I have had the same mail from Shaun Grint so I await the outcome with interest too.

I would make 2 observations here:

By agreeing to the deal they HAVE formed a binding contract (read up on offer and acceptance in contract law if you doubt this).

Secondly, there is a new voucher for £25 on the virgin radio website (free vip registration required to access it) and this requires no minimum spend on the wines!

Two very interesting observations there fairytooth. Have signed up for my daughter just in case she can get some gig tickets early. Ref the wines it does say min spend of £59.88 excluding delivery in the T&C's underneath. Also not to be used with reduced cases. Whereas I would most probably have continued as a customer with them, the heavy handed and unequitable way this has been dealt with ensures I certainly will not !

Thanks for the update phoebe. I am sure that the minimum spend has been added since I originally looked and in the light of their previous marketing disaster . I agree with you totally that their response to many potential customers has been a serios 'own goal' for them.

Needless to say, I have just taken delivery of several cases of half price Vina Mara Rioja from Tesco which is on offer and truly excellent value !!!

Well...I ordered Monday, got cancellation email on Wednesday. Order still showing as 'being assembled'. I have a theory, you know how on the email they say, 'If you still want the wine, full price, reply to the email and we'll do the rest', maybe they're putting a time limit on it, e.g. if you haven't replied by say, Friday midnight, then they'll do a mass cancellation.

Obviously it would have been nice to have got the wine, there does seem to be some double standards going on ;) but at the end of the day, hands up who can legitimately claim they DIDN'T know we were trying a fiddle - not many of us so I'm not too upset, but it was worth a try :)

I need to check to see whether I've been charged. If I have I am going to go spare at them ;)

the sneaky so and so's!!!! Mine was cancelled too... well I was thinking of changing to Virgin for wine but at this rate I'll stay with the sunday wine club and the national trust wine clubs! More choice and better wines! AND better deals!

I've got 3 cases through the Smile wine voucher offer. Not 3 crappy smile cases but put the money towards moxed cases worth £60-70. Very dissapointed with the quality compared to Sunday Times Wine Club

The so-and-so's at Virgin canceled my order too.

I have returned the favour by reporting their website to the Welsh Language Board (it's illegal for a trader to say "English only" in their terms and conditions.) Probably contravenes some European law too I should imagine.
