Just returned from a 4 day trip in London, stayed at the kings Cross Travelodge (on Kings Cross Road).
Room was spotless, bed very comfy, plenty of bed linen and towels. Also tea and coffee a plenty.
My only complaint i would say was there was no eggs at breakfast on the 1 day we ate there! not to worry though and in no way a problem!
Thumbs up for Travelodge again from me!
Will willingly book again and again.

I've stayed at Whitemare Pool in Gateshead and it was fine, this was a few years ago, we ate at the Little Chef beside it a few months ago and it was very nice.

In May we stayed overnight twice at one of the Washington Travelodges and both times the room was clean and comfortable, no complaints at all.

i don't mind travelodge - i'm staying at the Luton one in October for one night, and we've stayed at the Dundee central one for a couple of Christmas trips - first time our room was fine, second time not so fine, and the corridor was very noisy.

i think there is the potential for scruffier rooms etc in travelodges more than premier inn etc, but our beds and bathrooms have always been comfy and clean at travelodge, and if we're only paying around a tenner a night and its only for a night or 2, to me thats the main thing.

Got a cheap deal for £9 about a year or so ago and stayed for 1 night in the one that is just down the road from the Trafford Centre in Manchester. Big room, clean, comfy beds, no complaints at all. Luck of the draw I think.
  • I also stayed in the Travelodge recently. I was happy with a dingy room as I only paid £15 for it. However, on the night I stayed there some colleagues knew where I was staying and decided to "check on me" so the hotel gave them my room number and a key! Luckily I have stayed in a lot of hotels so had double locked the door and had a chair against it - when they started knocking I just ignored the door. But I wrote to Travelodge asking them what sort of place would give out this information and a KEY and they said they were sorry and they would "retrain" there staff and offered £15 off another stay! I dont think so! More chance that I would sleep on the beach than stay at Travelodge Blackpool Central again. I didnt expect much but as a lone female I would have though SECURITY would be a basic point - am I wrong? I wont be staying at any Travelodge again and I will be writing on as many forums as I can to warn femail travellers of the danger.
  • Good luck on getting anything out of travelodge, never mind an apology and a refund - well done!

An interesting post but why resurrect a thread that`s been dead for 18 months to talk a load of nonsense?

Maybe because the thread's entitled: Do not stay at Travelodge!
