(I haven't read all posts so I may have missed a comment about this!) I'm thinking of staying in the Blackpool one - the new one next the the football ground. I have 3 kids & really don't want to stay in ones nearer the centre of town as I'm aware of many hens & stags on their rounds, but has anyone stayed in this one?? It'll be for one night only & I need a car park at the hotel.

tbh it doesnt matter where you stay in Blackpool, you will encounter stag/hen dos, and most stay where its cheapest, so i would expect a TL to be full of them

anyone stayed in the Edinburgh West End Travelodge. Am thinking of booking a 2 day stay. I assume its in the center of town, within walking distance everywhere?
They are only £35 on the saver rate so I am tempted ... very tempted.
    Any problems encountered?

Personally myself, I'd never stay in a travelodge. My wife works in hotel management, and for a few months last year went to work for Travelodge. Some of the stories she told me about their cleaning standards, the way the places are run etc really defies belief. Some of the stuff she came out with made me absolutely sick
    Debt at LBM (28/08/09) = £43000 / Current Debt = £39800

You hear this sort of thing about a lot of hotel chains from time to time - ITV did a report on Radisson Edwardian which makes your hair stand on end:

What are Travelodge up to then?

I fully agree, most chains are probably as bad as each other, and a lot of the travelodge stuff is similar to the Radisson stuff.

I think the other bad thing that got me is that when the £9 room offers are announced most of them are booked up heavily in advance by, well lets just say 'women who entertain men for money' ;) .

We stayed at the brand new Blackpool South Promenade Travelodge earlier this year on 5th and 6th June and had a great time!
Our group consisted of 4 adults and 3 kids, aged 8, 8 and 12, so we had two rooms, which came to a total of £36 for 2 nights (£9 per night each!)

We also managed to park for free on Balmoral Road right outside the hotel all weekend (no restrictions on the road at the time!).

This one is right next to the Pleasure Beach, which was handy when we all got soaked (and I mean totally drenched head to toe!!) on Valhalla and could just nip back to get changed!

There were a few hen nights in, but they were not noisy at all!! (maybe travelodge have improved the soundproofing between rooms/floors?!)

It was probably 3/4 fill with families, and 1/4 full with hens!!

Overall we had a bargain break with Tesco paying for the Pleasure Beach/Blackpool Tower/Harry Ramsdens!!

I'd also recommend the crowne carvery just outside blackpool for a £3.50 carvery (Mon-Sat)!
