excessive P&P, i don't mind high P&P up to say like £2 for a dvd, but when you see people charging in excess of £4. But that might be more of an ebid rather than ebay thing.

Poor or no description is a big no no.

I have a similar clause in my Ebay auctions for international buyers; I can probably refund their money if an item goes missing but I don't give a guarantee so I'm not liable for a refund that would put me out of pocket.

Oh dear, you might want to have a re read of your user agreement with paypal. That term is the one thing that seems to consistently annoy buyers, have you read the thread? Also of course it rather shows that you are slightly naive when it comes to understanding what your responsibilities are and that might in turn put people off. It's hard enough to sell sometimes without upsetting people, so take the statement out.

One line of item description, 19 lines of T&C's.... A perfect example of what was discussed above!
Nice pictures though.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
Sellers boasting about free postage when their items are still more expensive overall than the guy charging a tenner for shipping, it's patronising.
Sellers with over the top call to actions in their listing like BUY NOW BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE! When a quick click on "sellers other items" shows they have 100 of the same item for sale,
Or "buy now or you'll regret it for the rest of your ife" it's too over the top, too agrresive, and it insults peoples intelegence, plus huge bright font's say more, "buy off me i'm desperate" than "this is a good deal"
The best most effective listings are straight to the point, without being too short, detailed without being too long and contain a strong call to action that is obvious enough to work but subtle enough that your buyer doesn't know it's a call to action.
Creating such a listing is easier said than done, but if your in sales you should take time to perfect it.0 -

I agree with you, especially about the 'last one left' type of statement in bold huge letters where the item is on a BIN with 99 others! (yes I found one like that last week).
Or how about, 'unique hand made item, you'll never find another one like this as it is 100% handmade' then see the seller has 10 others absolutely identical listed on a BIN (seen that one as well!).I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Actually you are liable and would loose a paypal dispute
So that T&C is meaningless. Also your T&Cs are bigger than the item description. It would not surprise me if you lost sales because of that.0 -
those awful layout/theme things. Eurgh.
Even worse the rare ones where it plays music when you open them. I wont even look at the item any more.
High postage.
