bokadict - that looks like a fantastic design! Scary to think how much thread you are going to get through, with 3 or 4 strands, but I reckon it will look fantastic not being able to see the holes in the fabric. What is the finished size of the design?

Ps - wouldn't worry about the chocolate, that should come out easily, just us a little washing powder and rinse that section.

nmn - Gosh, that is really coming along!:T Nice seeing the big lion appearing at the bottom there.

Coxy - Yay, after all the waiting for threads you got there in the end, it looks great! :D

Keep up with the updates, I love seeing everyone's progress :j

I haven't been working on my project lately, I'm on the last of 6 squares for a stuffed baby block (will post pic when it's done) also have been making lots of cards, jars of jingle beans, calendar coasters, etc etc

    Hiya all,

I need to join this thread desperately. Have been to the Harrogate stitching show yesterday and was fairly good not splurging but mainly because I have so many UFO's at home. Am currently working on a pic of a vase of flowers for m-i-l and a row of fairies for my daughter - was trying to get them both done for Christmas but doesn't look likely unless I give up work, sleeping or eating! Have also got lots of others started charts so will try to list them

    1) Flower vase - aiming for Christmas (or mother's day)
    2) Fairy parade - as soon as possible
    3) S is for son, S is for special - needed for 24th Feb - not started
    4) Tortoise - needed for 24th Feb
    5) House sampler - for a friends birthday I think? in May - not started
    6) multicoloured alphabet - not sure who for or when for
    7) dreamcatcher - have lost chart so whenever
    8) new tapestry thread kit - my 2010 challenge is going to reqire lots of patience
    9) Noah's ark embroideries x3
    10) Winter window - why did I choose this when it's full of cream and white?
    11) Poppies - is NEVER going to be finished cos I hate it

Have a nasty feeling there must be more lurking around and really need to get on with them all.

How often do you all get on here to post your progress? Need to get motivated and get on with them but am a bit of a serial stitcher and can't seem to focus on one kit at a time :o

Coxy, looking good, will look great framed :)

Dorastar, welcome :) I post either weekly or every 2 weeks depends how much i do, you can update as often as you like though we love following progress. Thats quite a list, good luck with your deadlines.

Sweetcarer, glad you arrived safely, enjoy your stitching.

*Louise*, i thought the lioness was looking lonely so she has a half a mate atm, lol.

Bookadict, not sure about the chocolate, it should wipe off with a damp cloth?? Thankfully you can't see the grubby marks on mine, i have clean hands, honest :rotfl:

Oh quick cumbrian weather update, huge thunder and lightning storm last night and this morning, thought windows were going to break with the force of the rain. More rain and gale force winds all day  When will it stop :(

We all post whenever - I do updates weekly when I am into my stitching, less regularly when I'm into something else.

You should start byt posting pics of everything (then us nosey bunch know which pics you are referring to) :D and then just update after that with progress pics of the one you have been doing most work on.

  • Hi all,

Thank you to Louise and NMM for advise on how to remove the chocolate stains from my aida.

Coxy - I love the Christmas design, it will look lovely once it's framed.

Sweetcarer - enjoy the stitching and glad you made it safe.

Dorastar - welcome to the club!! This thread is a great motivator for getting through your UFO's

Was lucky enough to have half a day of stitching. Here's the latest update.http://www.flickr.com/photos/37561643@N02/4126962413/?rotated=1&cb=1258968279015

I still think it looks as though a toddler's been finger painting on my aida!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I thought it would be a good idea (2 weeks ago) to xstitch the gift tags for at least 1 pressie for family................ hmmm think the others will be a tad more basic. have to do them at night due to babywiggle wanting to 'help' in the daytime so consequently keep falling asleep and miscounting..... grrrrr
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

    Hi all,

I thought I'd share my progress so far with the fishes. http://www.flickr.com/photos/37561643@N02/4122082674/

It's a bizzare one, as it's three strands for cross stitch and then four strands for half stitch. I just hope I've got enough threads to complete it.

The weather is awful, so a perfect excuse to sit on the sofa and over indugle in some stitching. Plus concentrating on this will stop me filliing my face!

I haven't been around for a while (ever since I said I'd provide pics of my UFO's which I still haven't done but will make a point of doing this week). I have just finished one of my UFO's which is a Christmas Candy Cottage free from Stitch Alley (from 2005).

bookaddict - I think the underwater design is one of my UFO's - I'll have a look tonight when I get home - if it is maybe we could buddy up and we can compare notes plus you can help motivate me (and I need a lot of motivating :o). I remember one of the things that put me off it was the number of threads used.

    Good idea Lelc,

Good idea. I'm starting to lose my stitching mojo with this already! I think it's because you've got to use 3 strands of thread and I'm worried that there might be enough to complete the chart.

We will get this one completed. My aim is by the end of January so I can then concentrate on my next OU course.
