Thanks for this thread, I am committing here to finish my UFO and as yet un started crossstitch kit this year. My first ever foray into the world of crossstitch.
I started a wedding sampler in September 08 for a wedding in Oct 08 (massively underestimated how much time they take) and have a birth sampler still in it's packet for my friends baby born Nov 08.
I WILL finish them this year (before baby turns 18 and married couple celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary)

fantastic - just the thread i need to ask a question.
I have bought a sampler (pic below). I havent done cross stitch in years so really after some advice please. I am doing the design below for a friend for xmas and the sampler is 11 3/4 x 8 1/2 inches (30 x 22 cms) i have a 10" ring but i dont think this is the right thing to use. I have never done a sampler before so would be greatful of some tips on what to use to do it please.
