Ive given up with the tapestry i started in June, its just 3/4 done. But i decided to start on christmas crafts now.

Im currently doing a elephant that im hoping to fit in to a coaster, for my nana.

Edit: Forgot to say. i just learned about "rail roading" i didnt even know it existes but now im wondering if its somthing i should be doing, but it slows down my stiching, how many people do this.

I never do. I like the idea, but unless you're planning to exhibit your stitching unframed, or the back of your work is a real shocking state when done in the normal way ;) I wouldn't bother. As you say, it does really slow things down.

The hardest part is selecting the right mount and frame!

bookadict, the holiday train is fab, i bet you're glad to have finished it (almost!). If i remember correctly its a present, so i'm sure they will love it. Well done :T

Does anyone use the plastic clip frames by R&R? Been looking at getting a new one as i hate the one i'm using with a vengeance :rotfl: Is it easy to to attach larger projects to the smaller frames?

Hi nmm, you're correct it's a Christmas present for my dad as he likes Steam Trains. I've even stitched his name - in the dreaded backstitch on it

It's been a labour of love, I started it on January 1st and have had a few months off here and there.

I've got a feeling my parents will have wet eyes, as they're both being given an All Our Yesterdays picture.

    Hi everyone,

bookadict - the Holiday Train is gorgeous. Well done you.

No update from me this week. I spent Saturday evening stitching Santa's boots only to realise that I'd mis-counted the holes (using linen - nightmare) and they were in the wrong place. In my defence, DH had been shopping and bought a DVD of Abigail*s party which he kept making me look at (all the subtleties - if you've watched it you'll know what I'm talking about). Spent Tuesday evening unpicking and was out last night. Hoping to do a bit tonight. Have to have it finished and framed for Christmas.

Also just remembered that I bought a set of 3 beaded angels to make to hang on the Christmas tree. Never done beading before but hoping it will be fairly easy(!).
