    Afternoon all

I LOVE that xmas one Maria... I have some xmassy ones planned for next year -Im back in the UK for this one -so no need to bother ;)
I got a lovely chart called santa star I think -from the wimblebees sale...
here it is -just found a link for it
    http://www.xstitch4u.com/acatalog/info_MY_TW_03.html
I was ordering some threads for mum the other day -so I ordered the threads for that at the same time (makes it cheaper :D)

I will up date on Sunday morning -then there will be a gap until I get back from hospital...pinkies crossed I feel up to getting lots done :p

We had to nip out today -so I have ordered the frame and mount for mums "in her garden" :Tand picked up a new bulb for my lamp-as it popped the other day -hubby came home to find me sat with a head torch on sewing :rotfl:-now THATs dedication :p

Ruth -I wouldn't like to trust myself at one of the shows :o-it would be like supermarket sweep :p

Well Im hoping to get lots of sewing done this weekend.... I have made 60 portions of meals and frozen them and enough bread to last hubby a couple of weeks at least (the freezers are to capacity now ;) )- all the laundry is done -so for the next 2 days Im pretty much welding my bum to the sofa :D
Hope everyone is well and getting lots done ;)

Also a quick question, with the rubber hoops like what i'm using should the brown bit be on the top like i have it or underneath? I only just realised that you can use it as a frame when you have finished, you learn something new everyday :rotfl:

    Afternoon all

Taking a quick break from x-stitching :A:rotfl:-will be getting straight back to it in a moment...
nmm -that is looking great :T
I would use the hoop the same way up as you are doing :D.... 1 thing though that might help....
You see how you have stitches you have done, wedged in the frame -if you flip the top hoop off and fold some of the extra fabric from the edges that hasn't been sewn over your stitches and then put the hoop back on -you will protect your stitches from getting squashed or distorted ;)and it keeps exces fabric out of the way :p
Does that make sense ...if not I will leave my sewing on the hoop when I update tomorrow -so you can see what I mean
Right -back to my sewing :j

It's really coming along well, looking great :T

The frame depends on your preference. I used to fix it on the way you have in your pic, then when I started beading I found it easier the other way (known as 'stitching in the well') and I kept doing it that way after that as I found it easier for me.

Stitching "in the well" also tends to keep your work a bit cleaner and any hoop marks are also on the back.....

I'm feeling pleased with myself. I have just collected my monster project from the framer and it looks fab. Almost worth the cost to my eyesight and sanity.

Stitch count is a mere 448x278 and although you can't see it in this shot it is pretty much the full width of the fire place,

Now which UFO to pick up next?

Hello folks - just found this thread (ha!) and thought I'd join in. It's been lovely to see everyone's projects...bad idea posting all these links to shops though. Must resist.

I've been stitching for years, and have recently completed quite a few projects. There's currently one at the framer's (going to be a Christmas present) and I'm working on a baby afghan for a friend who's pregnant.

Also in the UFO pile are "Max in the Adirondacks" and my "Samurai and peacock" both of which are about 2/3rds finished.

Wow - that looks fantastic, I remember seeing it on the site when you put a link up, how long were you working on it for in total?
