Everyone's projects are looking great! I haven't done much on my garden sampler type project but what little I have done I have modified so that it looks better to my eye.
I have a problem though......since the lightbulb moment of realising all the crosses look better going the same way, I am in 2 minds whether to unpick and re-do the bits that look messy because their crosses don't all go the same way?
Admittedly they didn't look messy until the lightbulb moment but now they do. They look out of place and they bug me
What to do?:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

Sorry Shelly, but if it was me I'd have to unpick the crosses and do them again. Otherwise it would drive me daft.
Better to do it now because the more you do, the more you have to unpick. Using the words 'messy' and 'bug me' makes it sound like the niggle has already started.
Prob not the answer you wanted sorry!:xmastree:What a splendid idea, this Christmas sounds fun. I fully endorse it, let's try it at once!:xmastree:0 -
Hi there Shelly
Im sorry -but Im another one who would have to unpick them :rotfl:-I have always done them all the same way -but I am a bit anal:rotfl:
How much will it mean you unpicking?
The other "way" -round it would be to leave them in and simply add another half a cross over the top so that they all go the same way - It shouldn't be too noticable -but it will depend on what pic it is and if you have enough thread-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Hi there!
Please can I join you in an attempt to complete one or more of my unfinished projects?
I'm an avid x-stitcher (when I get the chance). Last project I completed was a wedding sampler for my SIL who got married at Easter. No word of thanks (or otherwise) which I'm not surprised about tbh but I haven't had the inclination to pick up anything since.
I have to admit to buying tickets for Ally Pally which is on next week - I'm going on Sat 10th. Not that I actually need anything. I've currently got 4 unfinished projects and about 20 not started. However it's a nice day out with Mum.
Anyway, hoping to complete a kit called 'Santas Clothes' in time for Christmas, so I shall make this my next challenge.

Shame you're going on the Saturday. The only day I can go is Thursday. Is anyone going on that day???

Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A0 -
Simac and MRSMC.
Thanks for the advice, I guess I knew what the answer was already
Here's a pic of the project in question.....
As you can see they problem areas aren't big at all so unpicking isn't too much of a problem. The only bits that AREN'T wrong (easier to name what's not wrong rather than what is...lol ) are the little birdhouse at top right and the seedpacket, bee, fork and spade at bottom left.
I *think* I have enough thread left to re-do the bad bits but not 100% sure. It's not a DMC or Anchor kit so if I do run out I'll just have to get the closest match I can.
(ignore the black thread near the black cat. I haven't decided if I like its tail as it is or if I need to modify it so left the thread there)
I think what I might do is finish it off and see what I think then....it might be christmas by then and I'll want to start one of my new kits so this one might not look so bad :rotfl::rotfl::heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. Hi Shelly. With the pictures being seperated it should be quite easy to unpick them one at a time without disturbing the rest of the pictures. I remember backstitching my night fairy picture when I noticed that I'd gone upwards instead of across on one stitch! I think I must be a little anal too mrsm because I unpicked loads until I could put it right lol. She's my pride and joy now, my first proper picture and I'm so glad I fixed it. Nobody else would have probably noticed but I knew!!
Hiah Coxy11, good luck with Santa. I love Christmas!!!:xmastree:What a splendid idea, this Christmas sounds fun. I fully endorse it, let's try it at once!:xmastree:0 -
