I might have to buy the cards instead. Phoenix trading do some of the designs, so that might help with the craving to buy.
Probably LOL. I've been really good for the past six months and not purchased anything from sew and so!
I really want to finish my UFO's before I buy any more kits etc!

Sweetcarer-I think Joanns http://www.joann.com/joann/index.jsp and Michaels http://www.michaels.com/art/online/home are the 2 big chain craft stores. Joanns often have sales fliers with extra discounts on too. You could search online to see if there are any independent stitching shops near your inlaws too. My mum has a USA stitch shop guide book too. It's a few years out of date, but if you let me know what area you'll be in, I could ask her to check the book for you and then you could look online to find out if they're still open. Walmart used to sell a bit of cross stitch, but I don't think they do anymore. Still worth a look for other things, though. I got a really cheap camera case there and my hubby lives in his Dr Pepper T shirt, which only cost $4!
Hi Ruth Honey
I will be going to a small place called Mineral Bluff which is about 2 hours drive north from Atlanta - it is near the Tennesse and North Carolina border. I did hear about walmart losing the dmc contract and they have taken off alot of their craft lines. My husband thinks he remembers seeing a Micheals when he lived there. I have been making a wee list to see what we have to bring back (inc. tinned pumpkin). I am looking forward to this holiday as it is my only big one this year - everyone else had 2 weeks in summer but I deffered mine till November (just in time for thanksgiving). Wish I was at home just now and doing stitching instead of work - seems to drag by at times.
Kind wishes

I love this house -it has a 3 roomed basement (the ironing is down there)...I can't see it ...means it doesn't exist....mind I have a confession -the only thing that is ironed every time in this house is hubbies uniform -and he does that (takes him ages
) ...... most of my stuff and his casual stuff doesn't need ironing if I hang it to dry properly :j
well here is the photo of mums finished pressy...just need to get on camp to order a frame and mounts and -so until then I will put it flat in a pillow case in the spare room -then I can give it a final check over and press and get it done :T
as always you will need to click it to get a good pic
Im sure that when I come to frame it I will see something that needs adjusting -but if I never see another pattern with "cording" and "couching" on I will be happy
Right off for a cuppa and to get my new threads sorted :j
have a great day everyone:D
WOW - it's amazings MrsM. I'm sure your mum will love it and hang it in a promient place (please excuse the spelling!)
I'm glad it's not just me that finds a small mistake once your work has been finished!

Tiger, I'm so sorry about your Uncle. Cross stitch can be great for keeping your mind from thinking about things too much and getting too upset. Good luck with stopping smoking. Are you getting any help from the NHS? My best friend's DH stopped with help from them and has never gone back to it. Over 2 years now.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Thanks Ruth! No, no help I'm going it alone, I have tried in the past with help, but the pathches make me feel sick and the gum tastes like glue, so I have decided to go cold turkey, with the help of chocolate and cross stitch lol!!
I am getting on quite well with my rose, and have found even more ufo's in the cupboard undr the stairs, whoop. It actually makes me feel quite bad, the fact they are unfinished, but also because i could have given them away as presents. I need to get my rose finished beore December as the wedding is the 5th and then it's Christmas, and I really want to give it to my Mum for Christmas!
How do you all frame pictures. I normaly buy a cheap frame from wilko's, where do you get yours from?
Anyway I'm going to go and have a brew and some choccie and then some more stitching while dd has her sleep!

Oooh, seeing double! LOL! Best friend's DH had that inhaler thingy, which helped. Probably because it's something for your hands to do, but you have cross stitch for that. Good luck!
I think Wilkos is great for frames too. I'm always on the hunt for square frames, as I think they are hard to find cheap. I have a HUGE stash of frames, scattered around the house. There was a shop in my local town that closed down last year and they had a LOT of nice frames going for silly money. I bought about 20, I think. Plus some for my mum too. They were simple and came with a mount, so I stocked up. The sales assistant had to help me carry them out to my friends car because they were so heavy. Mum & I also bought some nice frames at a show in Cheltenham. And I found 3 orange frames hidden behind the sofa a few weeks ago. I think they're intended for Winnie The Pooh kits.
Ikea is good for frames too. The one I bought for my Bras kit was from there. It was £14, but I need 3 the same (have cakes & boots to stitch in the set too), so have to get 2 more. Wonder where I'm gonna hide those???
Speaking of framing, where can I buy mount board from? I know Hobbycraft sell it, but it's mega expensive in there. I saw Chris lacing some stitching to frame when I was at the Nimble Thimble and it looked fairly easy. I always used to buy sticky mount board and cut the fabric to size, but I think with bigger kits, lacing might be better.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27
