Hi all,
I am keen to start cross stitching and have a small kit to start. I have seen advertised some kind of thread (sorry can't remember the name) that goes on to the Aida to help you count and can be removed afterwards.
Can anyone tell me if they have used this and is it any good? Where would I buy it from?
Just a bit worried if my eyes are up to focusing on the small holes in the aida. I don't quite need reading glasses yet but does anyone use a magnifying glass or such like?
Thanks.
LoubyLoo
Personally I wouldn't buy special thread, I'd use normal sewing thread.
Or you could use these pens....Here is a page of examples http://www.hobbies-plus.co.uk/acatal...c_Markers.html (only look at the first 4 called fabric markers)
Though shop around for prices or see if any crafty type stores local to you have them. I called a local fabric shop on the off chance and I got both the disappearing pen and wash out pen for £4.60.
When I first got my pens I marked a piece of fabric and the disappearing pen marks I made were gone in a few hours so when I use that pen I won't mark many stitch places at a time.
HTH & enjoy stitching once you start.....beware though, it's addictive:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
I just wanted to say well done to everyone completing their UFO's.
I dont have many as I tend to only do one at a time and they are always large designs. I've only been stitching for 2 years and my first attempt was at Vantage Point, which took me 10 months to complete but its now framed and has pride of place on my bedroom wall.
I've spent the last hour or so reading this thread, whilst glancing across at my current project The Mighty Samurai. It has'nt been touched for about a month now... too busy in the garden, but the weather is turning and you lot have inspired me to start again.
So its off for my tea and then start the stitching again...once I find my camera I'll post a pic xx
PS - MrsM i cant wait to see how your design turns out, I fell in love with Heaven and Earth designs last year but I was worried they would'nt look as good as the pics on the websites!!0 -

I meant to do some stitching today but haven't got round to it. In my defence I admit to being too busy with e-bay...as in buying kits
My Mum gave me my xmas money on Friday whilst I was visiting her so I can pay for kits as I win them.
So far I have won 3 kits in the last couple of days that total just over £15.
Oh happy days!! :rotfl::rotfl::heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

Sorry, I forgot
One is a cottage with a pretty flower filled garden, another is a set of 3..yes 3! cottages and the last one I won is a row of cute birdhouses that says something like 'there's no place like home'
I have another 5 kits in my watch list.
I'll post pics once I have received the kits.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
