MRSMC, congrats on finishing! She looks great.
Ruth, forgive the numpty question but what is mount board? Is it the insert you put between your material and the glass in a frame? If it is Dunelm sell it but not in many sizes.....if it isn't that then I have no idea:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
I buy my mount board from my local art shop and they cut it to size and isnt expensive.I always lace and frame it myself then.

Hi All
Latest update on the floral alphabet - letter K now done.
http://i891.photobucket.com/albums/ac117/sweetcarer/Week3.jpg
Don't know if I will be able to do as much on it this week as I have got a wedding sampler to do - will post picture.
Everyones work is looking great. Love seeing it all progress togethter.
I used to lace my work but the last couple of times I used some sticky mount board I had found in shed. When I come to frame the floral alphabet I think I will get it done professionally - treat for such a big one.
Well off to bed, hubby away to work, so good book and hopefully some sleep.
Kind wishes to all

Morning all
Well its not much -but I thought I had better do my 1st "update" on Forest light -here is what I got done last night
Its the start of her face-I can see it -but only because I know thtas what it is :rotfl: -Im sure she looks like she has had too many sunbed sessions
-but I think once the darker shades start to go into the background it should balance out...
right -must get off -more sewing to do
hope everyone gets time to get some done today :T-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Ladies you have all done so much this week, i feel ashamed to say I have yet to pick up the needle, hope to get some done this weekend, however off to referee Colts rugby (and petrified - though got the Royal Marines on Monday so working my way up to absolute fear), so hoping when i return home will need to stitch to relax.
Angela - yet to make anything with my material, quite practical just dont really have an artistic imagination so got to try and find a few things to make, though bags and stuff for Xmas would be good i think.0 -
I will do a photo update soon but its dull and dark here so may need the flash. I unpicked all the green blocks i made, although it was a good idea, once you stitched over it a few times it's quite hard to remove. I got it all off and will do the rest without it, i might invest in one of those pens everyone raves about
MrsM, i agree with the sunbed sessions comment, same with my lioness the face seems too dark and even has purple in it, i'm sure it'll blend once the other colours are in (hopefully) :rotfl:

Hi all,
I am keen to start cross stitching and have a small kit to start. I have seen advertised some kind of thread (sorry can't remember the name) that goes on to the Aida to help you count and can be removed afterwards.
Can anyone tell me if they have used this and is it any good? Where would I buy it from?
Just a bit worried if my eyes are up to focusing on the small holes in the aida. I don't quite need reading glasses yet but does anyone use a magnifying glass or such like?
Thanks.

I used some ordinary thread it was fine till i started stitching through it :rotfl: You can get a pen that washes out in cold water or with a damp cloth, i think this is the better option. Someone will link to one soonCross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:0
