Here goes, trying to post an update on my polar bear. Not done a huge amount but one of the babies has now appeared!

Tigerlilley - I can definitely vouch for the accrosstownstitching link posted by MRSM, 3 days for delivery at 30p a skein, I was quite pleased. :) That rose looks like a toughie!! Keep posting progress for us nosey lot :D

Sweetcarer - omg, where do you store so many magazines!!! I had tons, but eventually had to take the patterns out I liked/thought others would like and stuck the remainder in the recycling. Got all the patterns sorted into folders now, and they still take up loads of room lol.

Misty Blue - Cattitudes designs are so cute, I like that one. Do you do many of them? I got the calendar with a magazine the other year but haven't got round to sewing any yet.

Simac - it's really coming along - that polar bear is just adorable :D

I star6ted reading this thread a couple of days ago and it got me motivated to go and dig out my cross stitch box and find out the pieces i havent finished - i found about 5!!!

not sure how to upload pics on here so cant show you (can someone give me an idiots guide please???) but a couple are from a DMC cross stitch book showing the cute hedgehogs with capital letters and names (did one for my daughter lucy and her friend ellie, both need finishing), a dreamcatcher one which took forever but just needed a couple of tidy-ups and now looks lovely! and a couple of nursery rhymes ... both just started.

i havent looked at them since the twins were babies (they are now 8!!) so i have a lot of catching up to do - i cant beleive i let everything just disappear into a cupboard and be buried under a ton of 'stuff' !!

many thanks to the op for starting this - you have rekindled my love of sewing!

Just found this thread. I'm into cross-stitching , I mainly stitch for lovequiltsuk.com these days which I am loving. Don't know if you guys have heard of them. People cross stitch squares for them which are then made up into beautiful quilts for sick children.

These are some squares that I have completed:

Can be a great way to use up left-over thread! (Sorry I would have linked them, but it says I'm "too new a user"!)

I find the cheapest place to by DMC floss is in the USA(!). I was there earlier in the year and it was 0.34c against 70p in my local shop. About 1/3 of the price?! I have also bought off eBay for 65p (free postage)

Quick update on the Table cloth - back at work so now it seems to be going exceedingly slowly, aim to finihs all the flowers by end of today !!!!
Have serious x-stitch envy of all your projects, seen so many I want to do, but trying to be disciplined and not start anything new unless I see a sale on/code. Have bought a christmas chart book to make some xmas cards this year. (have scraps of fabric and the card parts so want to use them up and do something useful with them).

I love the fairy 'G' square (where did you find the design for that?), and Mount Rushmore is brilliant.:)

The 'G' is from an alphabet book (DMC Flower Fairies Alphabet) that a user on another forum very kindly sent me. I love the colours on them!

Mount Rushmore nearly killed me! It was a a quilt with an American theme, but it was quite big so I had to do it on 16 count so it would fit within the required maximum size. All those greys, it was a nightmare! But it turned out well and it's lovely to see it on the quilt (never again, though :D)
