MrsMacawber, that Celtic lady looks wonderful. They are so detailed, but you seem to speed through them! Your hubby's owl looks great too. I wish my husband would show an interest in stitching. I tried again earlier, telling him I'd get through my stash so much quicker if he stitched too. He just grunted...

Sweetcarer-I cannot believe how good that fabric looks now! I showed my DH the before and after pics and he was amazed. To think you almost binned it! It's coming along nicely and you'll be proud at what you rescued. :D And it's obviously good for you to be back into cross stitch again.

Shelly-Tell your hubby how many kits I have. That'll make you look really well behaved! I have pics a few pages back too. 150+ in my kit box, plus a good stash of UFO's and a load of charts. You're an :A in comparison! LOL!

Tigerlilley1980-I'm guessing from your name that you're the same age as me (29)? Is that right? How long have you been stitching for? Looking foward to seeing your pics soon.

Louise-You're whizzing through that one! You can tell you're enjoying it. :D How many hours work do you think you've done on it?

  • Hi Ruth, thankyou for the lovely welcome. I am indeed 29! I have been stitching since 2001, when I was off work and bored lol! I have a terrible habit of buying kits even if they are ridiculously expensive and I have soooo many charts ripped from magazines lol!!

I have just finished a me to you wedding sampler which I ahd to do in four days as it was a last minute present decision lol! The couple were really pleased with it and it wasn't that big really

I will stick some pics on soon!

I decided to mark some gridlines and thought I would try an experiment after seeing that Easy Count Guideline advertised, it's just nylon thread so I thought fishing line might work and I'm quite impressed with it!! :D

nmm- I love your lions, that is a beautiful kit.

I'm June 15th-how about you? I don't know many stitchers our age. A lot of my friends have given it a go before-usually after getting a stitched pic from me!-but none are addicted to it like me. :rotfl: It's nice that I have found so many stitchers online and have gained some great friends through it. One friend of mine is in her 70s and we would never have become friends if it wasn't for our love of cross stitch. She lives in Suffolk (I'm in London) and I've gone and stayed with her quite a few times now. She also gets on with my mum & Grandma, which is so nice.

I'm a bit of a bargain hunter, so I buy kits in the sale mainly. I do treat myself if I *really* love a kit, though! Like the Dictionary of Bras. Actually, I talked my husband into buying me that one for Valentines Day...

I did a Me to You/Tatty Teddy for a wedding present once. It drove me crazy! I don't know how you did it in 4 days. I think I spent 4 days just swearing at it.:rotfl: Looked great when finished though, and the couple loved it, so alls well in the end.

Must go...have a cuppa with my name on it waiting for me. And if I don't hurry, DH will eat my biscuits!

I think my addiction started in 1996 when I bought a Flowers of the Year kit for my Grandma & Grandad's christmas present, so I've been stitching for 13 years now. My stash has increased a lot since I discovered internet shopping! :T

Any plans for your 30th? I'm half dreading it, but I have big ideas for it...just can't decide what to do. I'm liking the idea of a day spa at the moment, but I change my mind every week!
