Hi all,
I'm loving what everyone's doing at the moment and must admit that I've been tempted to buy some of the kits you've all been recommending!
After a few weeks of not having any stitching mojo, I've finally got round to picking up the holiday train! Yeah!! I'm working on some of the backstitch at the moment on the pretence that the more I do now, the less there is to do once it's fully finished!
Enjoy the long weekend!

Evening all
Well I spent the best part of yesterday listing the threads I need for the 2 heaven and earth charts, my celtic noel and the golden earth chart, had to cross reference so I had enough for each -then check which I had and how much -then whittled it into a list  -the plan was to "make it up to 200" to get the best rate....in the end I NEED 214 -just for those 4 (not counting the loads I have):rotfl:
So I have just placed my order -can't argue with £52 for 200 DMCs -and "in my defence" that is all the materials (I think) for those 4 big projects -which will last me several years:D
I swear it took my ages to get it sorted-so today I have got plenty of sewing done :j-I will post my update in the morning -can't wait to see everyone elses progress
right back to my sewing...have a great evening all-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Yeah me!!! :j:j:j
I was absolutely desperate to finish something, so I can start a NEW piece! The Newtons Law christmas one I was stitching last week will take a few more days, so I looked through my UFO box and found this...
I had to draw the lines on the fabric to help me out with my guidelines, but I've just finished it! :T I haven't taken a photo yet as it's wet and looks a bit rubbish at the moment, but I'll find some batteries for my camera and post a photo a bit later. I'm so pleased my UFO box is slowly getting emptier...and it's thanks you all on here. It really is giving me motivation to finish things. And my promise of 1 new kit started to every 2 finished is better than my old 'rule' of stitch anything you fancy!
Now, what to start next? My fabric for Meg & Mog probably won't arrive until Tuesday or Wednesday, so something small to keep me going over the weekend would be good. One of my new ones? Or maybe a Dolly Mama kit? I think I have 3 in my stash-one christmas one (feeling quite festive at the moment :santa2: ) and 2 others. Oooh, it's so exciting choosing what to stitch...:rotfl:Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Mums "in her garden" is dry now -so if I have to wait for the metalic thread to arrive for my celtic one I will get on and add the couching, cording, backstitch to that one :wall:
oohh and here is hubbies owl -all the x-stitch is done now -
I just need to give it a good wash (wish me luck) -then he has plenty of back stitch and heapppppps of french knots to add :rotfl:
Rigth I will get off and put hubbies to soak -and then settle down with some sewing :j

This is this weeks episode, not had as much stitching hours put by.

Off to make some banana cakes, then some stitching. Hubby has remarked that I am less stressed. The tension in my shoulders has lossened since I started stitching again. Look forward to everyones updates - hope all is well with you in your part of the world.
Kind wishes

Here's the pic of it all finished! I haven't framed it yet. Will make sure it's hanging up come December, though!
I decided to start my Christmas Dolly Mamas kit. It says 'Dear Santa...leave gifts, take husband' :rotfl: I chose this one because my husband was annoying me last night! I asked him to help me put the suitcase away and to help chose what kit to stitch next and he decided to wander off and do the washing up while I was struggling to carry the suitcase into the spare room. Grrr!
Anyway, I did a tiny bit of stitching last week when I was visiting my family. It's not much, but here's a pic of that.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

MRSMC, the celtic lady is gorgeous.
Ruth, love the xmas cat hangin out.
I was looking to spend my xmas money online on some kits yesterday. I had found a really nice Giraffe family kit and a Tiger kit. Hubby looked over my shoulder and muttered.....'Don't you think you have got enough kits?'
Men....they just don't understand! :rotfl::heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Hi there, I have just stumbled upon your thread and it's brilliant. I am an avid cross stitcher with quite a few projects to finish, they have been put by the wayside while I ahve been making things for my wedding!
I have a yellow rose, geisha lady, and lilly with an orange background, popcorn calendar and a huge fairy!!
I am going to make tea now, but I will post pics and the proper names of them aswell!
Happy stitching girls and boys!

Sweetcarer -good progress :T
Ruth honey -thats so cute:D
Shelly - the celtic ladies are gorgeous to do tooand you are right -men have "no idea" :rotfl:-mine can't understand why I got him that tiger in profile to do -well he has a couple more lined up -but, well it was lovely and a bargain ..PLUS its on black fabric (no mucky paw prints to get off
)
Anyway -I ended up putting hubbies owl in a pillow case on a silk wash in the machine -and still I don't think I have got all his paw prints out  -Its the first time I have had to try it -and it survived -unharmed:T
I have now done all the celtic ladies coloured bits and now have to wait for the rest of my metalic threads to arrive ...sooooooooo I have just started adding the back stitch etc to mums "in her garden" ..bah humbug - I HATE this bit...still the sooner I get it done the sooner I can cross it off my list...:j
right off to get some more done....-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50
