Hi MrsM
Thanks very much! The Wimblebees code works just fine - I am now £6.60 worse off, having bought 3 Halloween charts. However I did save about £12. One of the charts came in at 98p!
Regards to all

I have received an "invitation only" discount code for 70% off the sale items from wimblebees
http://www.wimblebees.com/
I have just used it to get £62.88 of stuff for just £17.93 :j -including the tiger in profile kit I had my eye on -for just £7.98 -hubby will be doing it -but he doesn't know that yet :rotfl:
On there they have 6" ickle teddies with a pannel to x-stitch -(thinking christening, birthday type gifts) -with the code they come in at £2.85 :T -they also have pink gingham bonnets to x-stitch for £1.84
also blank bi-fold card packs -
I hope the code can be used more than once -the code you enter is 7024 -hope it works -but Im not to blame for any spending
Right -I will post this on the other x-stitch thread ...pinkies crossed its of use-
Oooh, thanks for that! I bought 3 of the halloween frames and some card blanks, a reptile chart book (for my brothers girlfriend as they have a snake and a gheko-think they're starting a zoo!) and the Fat Flakes chart book. I also had a big splurge yesterday. MAJOR naughtiness, but I shall leave that confession until tomorrow as it's late and my eyes are struggling to stay open. Hi sweetcarer
The code only works on the sale items
I ordered quite a lot of DMC threads for 33p each from www.bluegrooveracing.co.uk
they arrived yesterday so not bad at all -8 days -to Germany whilst postal strikes were on..
Im waiting to see how *Louise* gets on with that site posted on here the other day -30p a skein and even cheaper for large amounts as I need 122 skeins for 1 of my charts and then some more for others.
Ruth-Honey -I ordered the Fat flakes a while ago .... but I got some bargains yesterday:D
Well I have been getting on with my celtic lady -but I need to order some more petite treasure braid  -so I will get off and order some of that and then settle down with my sewing :T-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
My Mum has been promising me for ages to take me to this shop in Wales. I did go with another friend earlier this year on the way to Portmadog, but we got there about 10 minutes after the shop closed!
I called the Nimble Thimble on Friday to ask what her opening times were and she's closed on Sundays and Mondays-the only days I had free. However, when I mentioned we were travelling quite a way (about 130 miles), she told me she comes into the shop on Mondays to water the plants and collect the post, so if we could get there for 10:30am, she'd happily let us look round. So we got up at 7am  to make sure we had plenty of time to get to the shop.
And it was totally worth it!Chris was really lovely and when we got there, showed us around the shop, made us coffee and let us have a good look at all her wonderful charts. The shop mainly stocks American charts-lots of Lizzie Kate, Waxing Moon, Pine Mountain, Raise The Roof, etc-but has some other kits and lots of gorgeous framed pictures on all the walls. Mum & I were in heaven! :j:j:j We were there over an hour and there was no pressure to hurry up. Chris let us browse to our hearts content. I ended up spending almost £50 on charts and buttons and Mum also bought several charts. I can't wait to go back again!
Here's what I bought...
The buttons for 'Everyone brings Joy' and 'Welcome to the Nuthouse'.

Lizzie Kate - All Things Christmas chart pack with buttons and fabric

Raise The Roof - What side? (This was stitched up on the wall and looked so much nicer than the picture on the chart. It was stitched on lilac evenweave instead of the white shown on the chart)

Forever In My Heart - Cross Stitching Fills My Days

Sue Hillis Designs - Christmas Spool Tree (Again, looks so much nicer stitched up than in the picture)

I keep getting the charts out to look at them again!:rotfl: I am also so tempted to get some Pine Mountain pillows. These 2 are my faves...

Thank you MrsM. I didn't buy anything from Wimblebees (I resisted the very strong temptation!) but while nosying around the site I saw loads of Heaven and Earth Designs and they are absolutely gorgeous! I'd never seen their charts before so I will definitely be buying one of them when I eventually finish my polar bear. The Nouveau Fairy Spring one is beautiful.
I don't know if it is of any use to anyone, but I googled 'heaven and earth designs' and it took me to their US website. There are a few really nice free charts listed, a bit ambitious for me (though I did like the Christmas animals chart!). Afraid I can't post links!:xmastree:What a splendid idea, this Christmas sounds fun. I fully endorse it, let's try it at once!:xmastree:0 -
Hi simac - have a look on the sew along website for heaven + earth charts (after hiding your debit card)
www.sewalong.co.uk
I have this one
http://www.sewalong.co.uk/productfull.asp?sel1=(HAE)QS4S
and this one
http://www.sewalong.co.uk/productfull.asp?sel1=(HAE)RA29S
Im hoping to start one of them "soon"
Be warned -some don't tell you how many threads it uses etc....
The one I have called garnet -is over 39 full A4 sheets and 21 part sheets, uses 90 colours (some needing 8 skeins ) -so not counting the threads I have I need to order 122 threads for it :rotfl:
Even the other one which is smaller still uses 90 shades
Im sure they will be worth it in the end
I love the this xmas one

Oh Wow, Mrs M!!! Garnet is absolutely beautiful. I would love to be able to do that one, you are soooooo much better at this than me, I'm still scared by anything bigger than 11" square. She is without doubt one of the prettiest pictures I've seen. I love butterflies and fairies!!!
Please please post your progress on here when you start. I'd love to see how you get on.
I'm now going home to put my credit card in the freezer so I can't buy anything from that site! Must finish polar bear :rotfl::xmastree:What a splendid idea, this Christmas sounds fun. I fully endorse it, let's try it at once!:xmastree:0 -
*Louise*
I ordered the "smaller" version -to do as a test piece :rotfl:but then I fell in love with the Garnet one -but jees is it a monster :p- I am cracking on with my celtic lady -have just ordered the petite treasure braid I am running out of  - and the blending fillament for the garnet one whilst I was at it -so I will be doing all the other colours and then filing in with the metalic when it arrives
Im waiting for reports (I think from you) on that site that did DMC for 30p -then Im going to order all the threads I need -about 200 :rotfl:-but THEN I should have the materials and charts to last years *until she spots another "must have" item*
Simac -Im no better at it than anyone else -trust me -I think I just have plenty of patience (only where x-stitch is concerned) -I can always *ahem* "pass it on" when I have done -as I work from copies
