:hello: Hi to all you lovely people, you have all inspired me to get started on a chart that I have. You all have some beautiful work.
I wonder if you can help me with this for me.
I have this chart, from a different seller http://www.sewandso.co.uk/cgi-bin/find/db.cgi?db=zoom&do=search_results&Prod_Code=54790&ww=1 .
But the chart i have is 18 count. How do I go about changing it to a 14 count, as I would like it to be the same size as the above. Then I can go out and buy the aida and threads.
Many thanks in advance for you help, I will post a pic if i can get started.:j0 -
Tigerlilley - Welcome to the thread, looking forward to seeing some of your pics. :j The 'huge fairy' sounds interesting
Ruth_honey - I have done about 3 hours a night, sometimes more, so I estimate around 60+ hours on it so far. I can feel myself slowing down a little, but I really want to get it done. Btw - I have just turned 30, didn't realise there was so many of us around the same age on this thread:T
nmm - Coming along nicely. I notice you are doing the background before the animals. Do you find it easier that way?
Moosmummy - it is so much easier with guidelines sn't it? You can jump around and do whatever bit you want without much counting. I can't believe I have been stitching for 15 years without discovering guidelines:o:rotfl:

Tell me about it! It will save me having to unpick bits too when I miscount

Great progress being made by all. :TBtw - I have just turned 30, didn't realise there was so many of us around the same age on this thread

I turned 30 in June. I've been cross stitching since I was about 7. It's strange that I've hardly ever met any stitchers my own age in real life, but there are so many of them on this thread!Egg Loan - [strike]£4921.84[/strike] £0!! :j Barclaycard - £3866.47 Legal + Trade - [strike]£2700.96[/strike] £0!! :j Triton - [strike]£1730.89[/strike] £0!! :j Next - [STRIKE]£776.15[/STRIKE] £126.88 Littlewoods - [strike]£217.16[/strike] £0!! :j Housemate - [strike]£1300[/strike] £0!! :j Capital One - [STRIKE]£1652.51[/STRIKE] £1,081.58 Vanquis - [strike]£2337.75[/strike] £375.58

I know what you all mean about being young and not knowing people in real life who cross stitch too. I know absolutely no-one else who cross stitches (unless you count a guy I used to work with)
I am 33 and have been stitching on and off for at least 15 years. If I meet new people and they ask what hobbies I have they seem amazed when I say cross stitching.
They mostly say things like 'Oh I'd love to be able to do that' or 'You must be clever, it looks really hard to do'
Just this eveing my Mum and Aunt dropped in and I showed them Rubys' xmas present and I think they were amazed that a) I have the patience to even do such a thing and b) that I have made a good job of it :rotfl:
My Mum bought a kit once but only got as far as sorting the threads then gave it to me as she was scared to even start it.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

I did my first x-stitch about 20 years ago -but its in the last 10 years or so I have become addicted ...I got my mum into it and she is a perfectionist -the back looks as good as the front -and she won't care if I say she is 70 in september
Hi tiger cub
All you need to do is multiply the inches by the fabric count given-and then divide the answer by the number fabric count you want to use so
What size or stitch count is on the chart YOU HAVE ?
then I can work it out for you
well I have more detail to be adding to mums in her garden today -poop..
hope everyone is well....-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Are there any nice people out there who by chance have some DMC Thread 437 (pale dusky brown) lying about that they don't need?? I need literally like 4 strands of it to finish off my tiger cub!!!!!:mad::mad: but its not a colour I'm likely to use again so was just wondering if anyone had any spare instead of ordering another load of it then having it laying about unused. .Time to find me again0
