I need to ask a question. When I started this taking the bank to court thing I got my letter templates from www.govanlc.com, a Scottish organisation that is charity based. In the letter templates it only gives 7 days instead of the 14 days I read about all the time. Does anyone know if it's because it's in Scotland or is this a mistake?

(Govan law centre (GLC) is an independent, charitable community controlled law centre operating in Scotland (charity no. SCO30193)).

be careful at using 7 days, as when the case comes to court, the judge can say that that isnt "reasonable time" unless they have presented your SAR in that time ( ie given you your statements)
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

I am sending my DPA letter off to Lloyds today by recordered delivery plus a £10 postal order! Have many more accounts/CC to try, but I want to get this main one out of the way! Before I changed bank, Lloyds were charging me around £100 a month in charges, making me more overdrawn than ever - then, charging me for that!

    Thanks Lynzpower,

I already had the bank provide statements in computer printouts for the life of the account before I asked for the charges back. (free too).
When I wrote to them they answered back saying the usual sorry, Ombudsman etc. I wrote again saying this was not useful and they then offered £60 full and final. The first letter was sent on 15th May and although I handed my form onto the court the first week in June the sheriff clerk has just written yesterday to say they are ready to serve the summons (12th June) So in effect they have had 28 days to do what I asked in the first letter. Still not sure if the time scales differ up here. The amount we are allowed to claim back certainly does. £750 max in the Small Claims Court. I am hoping that the Govan Law Centre have got their rules ok.

Anyway, cheers for you reply. Like your signature.

I've been a member over at the Bank Action Group since February. Just to let people know that I have managed to reclaim all my bank charges back from Nationwide - total of £949.54 plus £80 worth pending have been cancelled, plus they are going to refund my £120 court fee. No gagging order and no threats to close my account. If I can do it, anyone can. Good luck to you all!
