Just thought I'd update everyone....
Currently claiming back from Lloyds TSB. Claim filed at Moneyclaim, after earlier letters were replied with 'No - you can't have your money back!'. Claim was acknowledge, and today received a copy of their defence.

I am seriously running out of time on this!! I am due to send the LBA on the 8th June which means they have until the 22nd to reply. If not I'll file a claim, but this all takes time & I'll be leaving the UK at the start of Aug (and no internet access from 24th July), so I hope its all sorted in time   !!

Well I sent off my last letter before I register my claim at the court and today I recieved a letter back from the Halifax. They basically offered me £60 as a full and final settlement as a gesture of goodwill and if I dont contact them within the next 8 weeks they will assume I am happy - what a joke!
Ive never registered anything with the courts before and Im really scared, this is all really over my head

if you leave your parents address, any cheques can go through to them theres an option on the moneyclaim site for it.
At the end of the day if they do defend, im not sure what you do, but all have coughed up the money, cant see you need to be in the UK to get it back:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Chell, not Bounty no, but another, similar site.
Some of them (only a handful to be fair) were saying that we've all agreed to the charges when opening the account, and if we don't like the charges we should stay in credit and make sure money is there to cover bills etc, etc. Obviously people who have more than enough money and don't know what the words 'debt' and 'struggling' mean. The problem that they're not seeing is that banks are taking advantage of those of us in financial difficulties and refusing to offer assistance - how was I supposed to get around £390 going in one day when they refused to spread the charges over weeks?
Am now looking into new banks - once the mortgage is moved, which is definitely on now - woohoo!
