I just wrote mine to the bank itself eg to Lloysds TSB:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Is there an article on how to go about this?
As we got levied £90 last month, I can see the past six years of bank charges being a rather lucrative place to look for extra cash for repaying debts with.
Thanks xxI believe the struggle for financial freedom is unfair

I filed a claim and they acknowledged the very next day with an intention to defend, which scared me a bit. Then about 10 days later, I received a letter saying 'we don't want to waste the courts valueable time and as a gesture of goodwill we will refund blah blah.
Received the cheque today for £168 which comprised of the £120 plus £18 interest and £30 it cost me to file. Hooray!
I am quite keen to send a thank you card to Mr Robert Urdy, but have resisted the temptation so far!!!
What's your story Glitterari?

I know! I wanted to write to Mr Pretty at HSBC and thank him, but I think he seriously wouldn't appreciate it!
My story with cap 1 (£220 claiming)- wrote prelim - they said bog off. I sent LBA, they said ok, here have £60 and go away. I sent a final LBA (got me time scales a bit mucked up) and said thanks, but want the rest, they said bog off (again) so I filed with moneyclaim. They have acknowledged and received letter from the court saying that they intend to defend the whole claim which I found scary too so it looks like it's just a matter of time until they give in (hopefully!).
But to be honest, I really don't think it will go any further...because HSBC basically said it's not worth their time and effort to defend a £650 claim so refunded it rather easily (3 letters and a tight deadline I made them aware of at every opportunity) so I don't see how cap 1 think it's worth defending £160??Proud DFW Nerd #62

You couldnt hire a solicitor for half a day for 160. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

I've just received my statements for the period I couldnt check via online banking and the charges are £45.00!!! Wow!! The other period was about £500, I honestly thought there would be more than that, part of me thinks they might have fiddled my statements!! So I shall be writing a letter on Monday to try and get them back!! Wish me luck.....xx0

Both Sainsburys and Barclays have acknowlwdged my claims - giving themselves further time to enter a defence.
Sainsburys did it on the last day possible - blinking swines!!!! I thought the money was in the bag! I have since had a letter from them offering me half of what I am claiming... don't think so Mr Sainsburys!

Mine was for a little less but I seriously can't see them doing any different to what they did to me... they acknowledged and then wrote to me within a week offering to settle in full plus interest and court costs. Don't panic. It will be ok!

Slightly OT, but one thing I noticed when looking through my statements is how many times I was charged the £1.50 fee for withdrawing cash!! I was so stupid - we're talking withdrawals nearly every day, sometimes more often - eeeeeeek!! In fact, my statements were completely horrendous, I used to spend SOOOOOOOOOO much money (well, thats the £19,000 accounted for!)xx0

LOL I had a little smug moment yesterday in Natwest, I enquired as to why it didn't matter how much I paid or when I paid it, they always charge me every month. She went through the last couple of months and snottily said well "you've been going over your limit, last month was by £3.25" To which I replied so you charged me £28 for that £3! Eventually I got it out of her, the best time to pay another payment in addition to the one already paid this month, to stop the charge next month.................then promptly handed her my letter requesting 6 years worth of bank statements! :rotfl: Her face was a picture!Honorary Northern Bird bestowed by AnselmI'm a Board Guide and volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly on Special Occasions, Green/Ethical, Motoring/Overseas/UK Travel & Flood boards, it's not part of my role to deal with reportable posts.
