This is my first posting to the chat forum and it's good news.....after sending the preliminary letters to Barclays (for current account) and Nationwide (credit card), they've both agreed to pay in full..........
Barclays £55
Nationwide £35
Just waiting to hear back from Alliance and Leicester (current account) and Co-Op (Credit card)
Thanks to both websites and all the posters for the info0 -
Put a claim in against Natwest for charges levied against hubby's account and it was deemed to have been served on 15/04/06.
Natwest acknowledged claim on 20/04/06 thus giving them 28 days from the date it was served to put in a defence.
So, if I'm right, they have until this Saturday to put in a defence and if they don't I win by default yes?
Also does anyone know if I can apply for this judgement by default over the phone as we are having problems in logging in to our claim on line?
If this is correct, then its going to be the longest 5 days of my life......2014 Target;

Well I just read through the ten pages!
I have sent off my letter before action to Halifax - I'm only claiming back £30 but i could do with it more than them. They have ignored completely the first letter, but I have sent both by recorded delivery so they can't say they didn't get them.
I am looking back through bank statements for barclays, I have 7 years worth so at least it won't cost me anything to get 6 years statements. So far I have found £60 but it may get worse as I've got better over the last couple of years!!
What is a b***ch though is I shredded all previous credit card statements and i'm not sure I even have the account numbers now.0 -

Don't let them put you off Lynzpower!
Have to agree. Their not as nice as us bunch over here
I'm still waiting for my statements (only requested them last Monday), so cant wait for that!!
Any money I get back is a bonus - not sure how much I'll be looking at, but since I racked up over £500 in a couple of months it could be a good few grand. We shall see though....
Good luck everyone.xx0 -
I calculate that you have taken £XXXXX plus £XXX which you have charged me in overdraft interest for the sum which you have taken. Total £XXXXX
I am a bit confused about this part of the letter.. If we are not claiming overdraft interest, why does this paragraph need to be in there? Am I being stupid? It's not the most straight forward of websites/chat forums to be honest & being too scared to ask a question over there doesnt exactly help...
Could I amend this paragraph? What have other people used?
Its Monday, not awake........ :rolleyes:0 -

It took me a while to get my head around this bit as well, I think a lot of people haven't bothered with this interest.
Basically what it means is the extra interest you would have paid by being charged £30 or whatever. That probably makes no sense, sorry, but I can't think how else to explain it!"I've fallen down a hole" - said in best Monty Python voice-over.0 -

Thanks Alleycat, that makes sense. Not sure what my OD interest rate was, but presuming it doesnt really matter if you leave this out then?
Cant wait to get my statements, I am actually looking forward to it - is that sad?? :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

Hi guys, I'm probably being blonde here but where's the link to the site with the standard letter to send off? I was charged a fair whack recently and can't really afford to kiss goodbye to that sort of cash.
Thanks0
