There is no information on the Ticketmaster website yet as to what to do about claiming refunds.

Apparantly a statement is coming soon. I hope they replace the concerts with some kind of tribute concerts.

anyone know what the situation is of getting a refund from ebay on fees for sales of tickets, im about to refund the full amount to a buyer but it seems unfair that paypal keep the final valuation fee if the transaction cant be completed

I'm not sure what time limit there is for a mutual, I have a feeling it is still only 60 days. Does it give you any option at all to open a mutual?

If not ask officially (use a posting id) on the community boards and see what they say. It might well be the case though that as selling tickets not in hand is a grey area you gamble your fees if you sell too far in advance.

Another quite interesting thread, I particularly like the suggestion (tongue in cheek or naive?) that ebay themselves refund all the buyers.

    http://forums.ebay.co.uk/thread.jspa?threadID=1200300270&tstart=0&mod=1246004924558

I'dread the threads quickly as I suspect most will be pulled within a couple of hours.

Ticketmaster MJ page has been unpdated to read this

The legendary King of Pop, Michael Jackson, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2009, at 2:26 p.m local time. It is believed he suffered cardiac arrest in his home. However, the cause of his death is unknown until results of the autopsy are known.

His personal physician, who was with him at the time, attempted to resuscitate Jackson, as did paramedics who transported him to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. Upon arriving at the hospital at approximately 1:14 p.m., a team of doctors, including emergency physicians and cardiologists, attempted to resuscitate him for a period of more than one hour but were unsuccessful.

Jackson's family requests that the media respect their privacy during this tragic period of time.

We have no official information at this stage. As soon as we have any information we will immediately contact all customers who have booked tickets through Ticketmaster.

Looks like the touts are the ones who are going to lose out most in all this.

As mentioned in those threads, buyers should be able to claim back the full amount via small claims court. Sellers should be able to recoup the face value cost so in theory everyone should be level. Trouble is the sellers would have either spent all the cash they received, or will try to recover face value and find (AEG?) have gone in to administration.
