they do not seem the same though, they have offices in my hometown and are very helpful, i just do not know what to do as these debts are crippling me

if the current debts you have are crippling you, why don't you call the national debt helpline, cccs or go into the cab for free advice? i rang the national debt helpline and they were brilliant, gave me my options and info
  • Avoid most brokers, I mean, Who in the right mind would pay £50 to a half hearted company who cant be arsed to search for loans, And before you part with your cash guides you with a false sense of security by saying we have approved you for a loan, When in actual fact no they haven't ? Beats me, Wentworth just tried it on with me, They got a mouthful, Bloke on the other end of the phone was pretty shocked to what i thought of his scamming company :-)

General Rule, Never part with cash to a loan company, Be wise, If it sounds to good to be true, Then it probly is :-)

Yes Loans are proper proper con people. I say no more cos i believe most are already aware

i have to agree........ i had a text from these today saying my loan enquiry had been passed to them. i text them back asking 'what loan enquiry would that be then?'

i hadn't heard of them until i got that text so you can imagine whats going through my mind..................
  • has anyone heard of loansfiesta !!! They called me to say I had been accepted for a £4k loan, The only company I contacted for a loan was Wentworth Direct to whom I paid a brokers fee of £59 so presumed they had passed my details to loans fiesta....the guy I spoke to had a very heavy indian accent to which I could hardly understand, he told me I had been accepted for this loan and somebody will be calling to my home with the paperwork for me to sign, I confirmed my bank details with him, he then asked me for my debit card details, I asked him for what reason did he need it he told me so they could credit my account with the funds!!! I told him I had already given my bank details so didnt understand why he needed my card???? He said they credit the amount onto the card instead of the bank account !!! stupidly I gave him the details and 2 days later £50.12 with a debit card charge of £1.50 was debited from my account!!! I rang today and they said they are busy with the xmas period but as soon as I receive my loan I will get the processing fee back!

I may be a little naive but have I just wasted over a hundred pound on these scammers or are they a legitimate company??
  • I had a bad experience with Yes Loans and Money Worries.

I called yesloans and paid the £69.49 fee as they told me they had three options for companies and all I had to do was choose which one.

After going through all my financial details again I was told that Money Worries were the best option.

Money Worries are based at the same address as Yes Loans. Convenient eh! Out of all the companies the one that was best for me was in the same building as them.

Anyway, I spoke with someone who had said that they would take £250 a month to clear my debt over 4.5 years. I did the calculations using an interest calculator and the rate worked out at 13.9%. I thought it was excellent and wondered how I could get such a good rate given my position.

I explained I'd like to see that paper work before I would proceed. The guy told me that he needed to take my card details to set the payment up for the following month and that no funds would be taken until then. Therefore giving me time to view the documents. I was suspicious but complied. They took a payment the following day. I was raging and if I had the means I would have driven down to Wales and knocked the guy out.

After reading the document it turned out they are a debt management company and they would be facilitating my debt payments every month, £25 of the amount would be their fee!!!

I repeatedly asked the guy if this would be the end of it and I'd make one payment to them and have no other creditors. He said that if I received letter from companies demanding money that I was to ignore them as they'd be making the payments to them. It was explained as if they would make the payments to pay off my existing debt and I'd pay them but that isn't the case.

Anyway, as soon as I realised this I sent a cancellation notice by recorded delivery to both yesloans and money worries for a refund. Both have 28 day refund policies.

I called and explained I needed the money returned asap given that I was in financial difficulties. I was told they had a 28 day policy. I asked if they were going to hold onto it for 28 days so they could keep the interest/use the funds. I was told they had a 28 day policy and it would be returned within that time.

Money Worries transferred the money to my account on the 28th day exactly and paid to my debit card.

Yes loans didn't process the payment. They then tried to tell me I had been paid. I explained that I had a refund from MW. They're obviously the same company using the same systems as he was able to see my details. They are not separate entities.

I called them repeatedly to be told a cheque was in the post. I called again after 43 days and told them I was raising a complaint and compaining the OFT. They cheque arrived on the 47th day after payment minus the £5 in their T&Cs.

I reported the !!!!!!!s to OFT anyway to prevent them from doing this to other people and would encourage others to do the same.

They had a report produced by trading standards/OFT that was implemented on 01 Oct 2009. Failure to comply is a fine up to £50,000 or loss of license.

    Never use these scammers.
  • Has anyone used Express Finance previously?

They do not charge a broker fee upfront but their site is basic and doesn't state what the fee will be should I get the go ahead.

    I need around 1k.

I have a car that is worth about that but it needs 3 new tyres and car tax. I could sell it no problem if I had those on it but I don't have the means to get the tyres and tax on it.

It's difficult trying to sell it for even £700 as I can't take anyone for a spin!

im currently in a fight with one of these companys. i shall not name them as that would be allegedly "libellous". to them i say to do some research as to what constitutes "libel" there are so many of these companies out there that someone has to stop them and it should be up to the government to stop these companies taking money of people who are in desperate need. its their attitude when you try to get your money back that annoys me the most.

i have to say that i will never fight with an employee, its their jobs not their fault.
  • I'd like to add creditplus to the list if I may. Dreadfully rude, obnoxious staff.

I think this would be a good place for people to mention any loan companies that charge £40-£70 to process your application [TEXT DELETED].

I for example have been looking for a loan and stumbled across lots of these companies. Here are a few to avoid!

    Wentworth Direct
    Yes Loans
    141 Loans
    Tenants Loans
    bad-credit-loans-for-tenants.co.uk
UCC Loans PLC (I can't believe I was recommended them by Abbey!!!)
    Best4loans
    TLG Loans
City/Citi Financial (Be careful as this company is not part of CitiBank at all)
    Advantage Loans
    tenants 4 loans
    loans for tenants
    go loans
    Alchester
    Horizon
    [TEXT DELETED]
    CHKR Loans
    Loan n Go
    Churchwood Finance
online-secured-loans.co.uk AKA Quick Decision Loans AKA Unsecured Credit Company
    Maddison Finance
LoanFinder UK (They dont charge an upfront fee but they take a lot of money after they recommend you apply to mainstream lenders!)
