I think this would be a good place for people to mention any loan companies that charge £40-£70 to process your application [TEXT DELETED].

I for example have been looking for a loan and stumbled across lots of these companies. Here are a few to avoid!

Wentworth Direct
Yes Loans
141 Loans
Tenants Loans
bad-credit-loans-for-tenants.co.uk
UCC Loans PLC (I can't believe I was recommended them by Abbey!!!)
[TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM]
TLG Loans
City/Citi Financial (Be careful as this company is not part of CitiBank at all)
Advantage Loans
tenants 4 loans
loans for tenants
go loans
Alchester
Horizon
[TEXT DELETED]
CHKR Loans
Loan n Go
Churchwood Finance
online-secured-loans.co.uk AKA Quick Decision Loans AKA Unsecured Credit Company
Maddison Finance
LoanFinder UK (They dont charge an upfront fee but they take a lot of money after they recommend you apply to mainstream lenders!)

Why on earth you would be willing to pay £40-£50 just to search for a long?

Its bad enough if they charge an admin fee to set the loan up.

I only charge £20 per search if you are still looking :D

I'm not willing but there are plenty of people who have fallen into the trap and paid for this. If you are desperate for a loan they will hunt you down and try and convince you they are the only option to get a loan.

They say its an "application fee". Basically they charge you for a credit search which doesn't happen (they tell everyone they have been accepted just to get you payment). You pay them once you return your forms only to find a reply saying that there is a negative entry on your credit report (or any other excuse) or you don't receive a reply at all.

  • I don't think there should be any application fees since you are getting a loan in the first place.

Give this thread enough time and every lender in the UK, big or small, good or bad, will eventually appear.

Every business in the UK has their element of disgruntled customers.
