I love the "I will be writing to Watchdog" or "I will be taking this further with solicitors" type comments.

You have given them your card details and they have taken a payment, simple as that.

You will just have to try and get it back in 6 months time.

In the meantime you can reflect on your stupidity.

This is rubbish. I have had dealings with unsecuredloancompany.net over the last two weeks. I paid my money for the service and it was definatly not what was expected but i sent a letter as is advised in the terms and conditions and fought my corner, i reported them to watch dog and contacted the FSA and advised the of this and how they were in contravention of there terms and conditions. I have since received a full refund. I will be posting warnign people of these guys but please dont deter people from tryin to get there money back. [TEXT DELETED BY ABUSE TEAM], they have this same approach with there terms and conditions of there agreements and there are clauses that mean you can get out and get your money back. If anyone is having trouble with these guys then please PM me as i would love to hear about it and help you [TEXT DELETED].

    thanks, Luke.
  • I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to all those who have posted on this thread!

I got a call from Loan2Loan UK today who told me that there were lenders ready and willing to give me the loan I wanted. This later turned into a 'conditional offer' - which to me isn't the same thing. Then I was informed of a £40 fee which I can't pay at the moment anyway, but they were willing to take at the end of the month. This £40 fee immediately raised my suspicions and I was trying to explain that I don't want to pay any money without knowing how much I'm expected to pay back etc... And I was told I could get a refund if I wasn't happy. This £40 really aroused my suspicions made worse by the fact that I have previously had a loan with Halifax whereby they didn't charge a fee. I also noted how the guy on the line was trying to get through all my details very quickly and I also noticed how he didn't hear (or chose to ignore) half the questions I asked and just jump straight to my card details (or maybe the time delay due to the fact that I was not called from within the UK played a role?? which again made me very wary) In the end I said I wasn't happy to give my details and that I would have to speak to someone else about it first.

I told my mum who instantly said NO WAY. And now coming on here has just confirmed my gut instinct so thanks everybody.

And I truly wish the best for all those who have unfortunately suffered at the hands of these companies.

Young1976 I too was duped by loanfinder. Got my money back this week. Their tel number is available on their website under Contact Us (Beware costs approx 5p a min) They will say if you want to cancel your account and get your money back you will have to write to them. Their address is

    Loanfinder
    Walton House
    56-58 Richmond Hill
    Bournemouth
    BH2 6EX.

Sent it recorded or get proof of postage at the Post Office. Letters magically go missing to them quite a lot. Also remember to say that you wish to cancel your "Credit Extra" account. You were signed up to this at £6.99 a month and you probably didn't know it. It only says this in faint grey small print after you have filled in the application. There is no opting out unless you specifically request it afterwards.

Also cancel their direct debits and ask you bank to make sure that no more direct debits are set up by this company. Their are under the name Post Net.

If you need any other help. PM me.
  • Anyone got an opinion on payday loans?

On the face of it they seem abhorrent but I was reading the other day some facts about them and at least you know upfront what you are paying back if you do take out this kind of loan - they do give it to you straight, but it must be a lot to pay back if you are in debt already.
  • This is what I was reading - I just found it again online: http://www.paydaybank.co.uk/news/?p=13
  • you all must be stupid if u are going to brokers you can get loans for free whos ever heard of payin for a loan
