Can anyone suggest any reputable companies who lend to people with a bad credit score/file that do not intend to scam us?

    Nope, there aren't any.

With bad credit history none of the mainstream lenders will take a risk on lending when your history shows you aren't too commited to returning borrowed money.

there are places like Credit Unions who only lend a few hundred, and only after you have been saving with them for a while.

There are also Crisis Loans if you are really struggling but they won't lend for luxuries.

If you wish to borrow to clear other debts, it is even more unlikely.

You have been bitten once, take the lesson and NEVER believe anyone promising an end to your troubles.

Never give out your bank details without completely researching the company first.

    xmascashloans.co.uk ??? really?? _party_

Pay £35 to some stranger in the vain hope they are going to give you a wad of money??

Mmmmmmmmmmm . lets think about it for a minute...

Of course you have been scammed, there is no money. You have given some stranger a nice xmascashgift though if it helps.

    Lets do a quick whois
    Domain name:
    xmascashloans.co.uk

    Registrant:
    PAYDAY LOANS LTD

    Registrant type:
    UK Individual

    Registrant's address:
The registrant is a non-trading individual who has opted to have their
address omitted from the WHOIS service.

    Registrar:
    Webfusion Ltd t/a 123-Reg.co.uk [Tag = 123-REG]
    URL: http://www.123-reg.co.uk
Not looking too good is it.

No T&C's on the Website, try clicking the Contact Us page, they even try to mug us into spamming their dodgy site for them.

Thanks to an email, i have just returned to this thread and looked back at what my situation was, I'm amazed to see the date is July 2009 and although I've been constantly battling to clear the debts that figure of 7500 is still sitting at 4800 due to interest, and the occasional emergency purchase (washing machine!)

That is nearly 2.5 years ago, yet if I'd got an established loan company to take me on I'd have been much happier, I would have had been able to save a few bob so that when the washing machine was needed it would have come out of that.

I kid you not this crisis we are in now is a big con!

The people who work at Yes Loan are a bunch of wa**ers. They are so rude and unprofessional. They are the biggest scamsters of them all. I thought since they had adverts on tv for their car credit they would be legit. Boy was I wrong!

Is anyone familiar with Financial Plus? I just had a letter for them asking for only £10...

Yes Loans aren't lined to yes car credit. Two completely separate companies - I think Yes Loans were just capitalizing on the word "Yes" having previously been associated with less awful comapnies that establish their brand on TV.

... Only £10?? Well.. In that case ...

Any lender or broker worth their salt won't charge a penny. Brokers who actually find people suitable finance earn their keep through commission from the lender.

  • I had the same thing as everyone else, told I had been approved for a loan.
Was told it would cost me £59.99 which I was uneasy about as I've paid a company before for a loan and not got it, luckily that was only about £12.50, when I mentioned this to the manc chav on the phone she said not to worry as that wouldn't happen because I have already been approved so I paid the £59.99, then I got the same spiel... That my "personal underwriter" would be looking into getting me a loan and has to search over 250 companies, apparently, not what I was told on the phone.
This "personal underwriter" is a load of tosh! After reading reviews my first correspondence with "Kate" was me asking that if they didn't find me a loan could I still get my £59.99 back, her response, a clearly pre written load of rubbish that completely ignored the question, my second correspondence was to the effect of "I've sent you my letter of cancellation, I expect my money back" her response, another clearly pre written response claiming that she would hear back from lenders tomorrow and would keep me updated, again no mention or reaction to what I had said.

So far all I have been offered if payday loans with extortionate intrest from a company that share an office with these !!!!!!, no doubt the same company/directors.

As I said I have sent my cancellation letter via recorded mail and photocopied it, so I expect my money back, if not I will take this matter to a solicitor.

Unbelievable these companies are allowed to operate, but then it kinda makes me feel, why am I wasting my time grafting every day when I could easily be doing the same thing? This country and its rulers obviously see no problem with it, as there are reviews and people complaining to trading standards for many many years before about these clowns.

Stay away, do the work yourself!!!
  • I sympathise with everyone else as i have recently fell victim to these vultures following contact with Wentworth direct finance regarding a loan. Once i submitted the online application i was contacted to say i had been approved and that documentation would be sent out in the post for me to sign and return. However before the documentation arrived (which was not a loan agreement) They had taken £79 out of my account via Paypal without my authorisation. To date i have still not recieved an official loan agreement.
While this was happening i was also contacted by another company called Easy Finance who said my details had been forwarded to them by the above company and they were the loan provider.
They requested my bank details in order to process the loan into my account they too then took another £49.
I contacted to complain and ask where the official offer/agreement was they again said it was in the post.
I have since contacted several times to demand my money back to no avail with telephone numbers given to me that do not exist, calls convieniantly disconnecting and rude members of staff.
I today have recieved yet another "loan offer" due to Wentworth (Loans express finance) requesting yet another £100.
I have found a template letter online and thinking of contacting the ombudsman as i believe they cannot charge more than £5 even if they intend to provide a loan tho i feel its a total scam.
These companys need to be stopped and have licences revoked (if they have one) They are preying on innocent and vulnerable people and must be making a fortune in the current climate.
Now i am £128 down to date which obviously i cannot afford.
    Any advice greatfully recieved.

Why do people still fall for this? Never, ever, pay any kind of upfront fee. No decent reputable broker or lender will ask for one.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.
