Mr T had some cheap digital freeview boxes, think mine was £20

Ask for some quotes of some aerial companys, you might strike lucky and be able to support another TV of your exsiting aerial, so you would just need another cable running down

I paid £70 last year, to have a new aerial fitted and the cable brought into my bedroom, though think they guy felt sorry for me and knocked £10 off as I told him I was at home as I had been put on a 4 day week at work, which was true

Maybe get your daughter to contribute some of the cost, aways good to start them learning the value of money :)

I was expecting to pay about £100 but never thought they could do it from existing aerial in DSs room. Its a thought. I know the boxes are cheap.

  • If you're really concerned about the size of DD's bedroom, would a loft conversion be out of the question.

We converted our loft about 4 years ago and use it as an office on a daily basis. Although it would be expensive to do, it would add value to your home.

I hadn't realised you could follow each other on Toluna Pammy, let me know if i can help you out by following you. You will have to explain what I need to do though!

I have a feeling we already are, my name is the same on there catht. Basically you follow someone and then they are easier to find so you can click and see if they have any new opinions/polls to reply to.

Rainbow I have thought about doing the loft thing but then thought paying all that out when I could just move to a better house with a drive (I would love my own drive - sad I know)
I am thinking of moving my loft hatch though as its in a silly position and very very small, can just get a shoe box through it!

  • We had our loft hatch widened at a previous house and put in a ladder that came down as you opened the loft and had a light put in - can't remember how much it cost but it made a huge difference - the loft became usable - think of how much junk (er, useable items!) you could store up there!

Rainbow (thanks for the name - I was wondering how I could shorten mine) Rainbow-with-Pot-of-Gold-Coloring-page.jpg

Its good you have delurked Rainbow. You should start a diary to keep track of things and to mumble on like the rest of us do! You have already done an amazing amount of reducing your mortgage already!
Re the loft. The only thing putting my off doing that is that it doesnt add value really and it just means I have more space for junk. If I dont have the space for it then I cant store it!

Got a letter from car solicitors today saying they are waiting for a reply from a claim they have put in regarding the accident, not as straight forward as DDs then.

Also having a panic attack as kids holiday club is not open next week, DD text dad and asked if they could go there, took him 15 mins to think of an excuse as to why 'evil eyes' couldnt have the kids there while he was at work. Apparently she is going away! Of course she is!!
So I have tried to contact the other club they used to go to but they dont like but no answer so waiting to hear from them. I only need three days or poss only two as I can poss take them into work one day and I am off mon and weds.
    Oh what a to do!

Hope you manage to get childcare sorted. We had a quote to get part of our loft boarded for storage, new strip light, ladder and a bigger hatch. It was £600 and seemed a lot to spend although it would be incredibly useful.

Hol club sorted, after gently saying to ex that DD was upset he had given her empty promises he has agreed to have them for a day next week if I drop them off. The cost of petrol is about fiver as opposed to £25 childcare so happy with that. He will drop them back after tea. I will take anything extra he is willing to give! He is even keeping his promise to pay half of £130 school trip so saved £65 put aside there too. So hol club for 2 days cost me £55 and had put aside £96 so all in all today ex has saved me £20 childcare and £65 school trip :j and I didnt realise it was a bh half term so my usual day off is monday so am off weds for day in lieu :) saving another £25.
Total saved today - £110  that money was already put aside anyway so can possibly OP it :D

Also my average monthly childcare payments left is £360/7 months so has gone down from £45 to £40

That loft quote is about double what I thought it would be. For the sake of putting junk somewhere that I am used to not having I think I will stick with my small hole :o;)
DD is happy to be getting freeview in her room so will ring for some quotes tomorrow.
