Thanks for your replies, sorry feeling all bah humbug. :(
Kids have come home this morning with all lovely gifts. I am still in a low mood and dont feel like being all happy mummy today. I am going to have to force myself to set that scalextric set up and make the clay moulds and fiddly things. Had tidied up and kids within minutes have dumped stuff everywhere.
I am going to force myself to go and walk into town I think and see if there is anything I can buy in the sales.

As for the school clique, I have tried those things, kids do have their friends round for tea often but dont really get asked round to theirs. Then the mum or dad just pick them up and dont really say much. It doesnt help that the kids joined the school in the middle.
I am not the sort of person to ask if people want to go out as I have been knocked back a couple of times before so for fear of that happening I have stopped asking.

I know that I am hiding myself into being MF for the past couple of years and having no social life has helped that dramatically and I know that possibly in 5 years I could be MF and the kids will be older and more independent that I can have a life of my own then so I think I just need to buckle down with that and get on with it for now.

Thank you all for your kind words and support and reading my drivle!

sorry to hear you're feeling down Pammy. There's something about this time of year that gets to people. There's a thread on the families board called get it off your chest if you want a Christmas related rant with people who are equally disillusioned. Won't solve the situation but it's better than bottling it all up.

Congrats on your 2011 figures, I am in awe of what you've managed to achieve. Gold star for you :j

Thank you, picked my eldest up today who had been to a party and not gone to sleep until 4am. Arranged to pick him up at 10.30 and he strolls home at 12pm. We were then going round visiting people and he was hungover and in a sulk most of the day! My younger two seemed to be able to wind him up with the slightest thing!
Great start to him staying here for a few days. I am trying not to get into an argument with him, hes just so stubborn sometimes and shouting at the kids when they are just being kids. Typical teenager I know.

Am just sorting out my new thread to try and get me back focused and try and take my mind off things for now.
