I completely agree. When we bought here we said if we could help it we didn't want to move again as we did it so many times when we were students. This house might not be perfect, but it is a great place to be.

It's the costs that scare me. I'd rather not waste so much and have nothing to show. If we were going to spend a fortune on moving costs i would rather spend it on building an extension here.

Pammy enjoy your weekend, with no house thoughts, thats an order

Me and the BF got quoted, to sell two houses and buy one in the price range we want would cost 9K. I nearly fell off the chair though 2.5K off that was stamp duty. Its a good job we both have profit in are houses

I so want to move, but the thought of it fills me with dread :rotfl:

I hope you enjoy London and not thinking about the house. As well as having dreams we have to be realistic about expense and our sanity.

Hi Pammy, trying to move is just so stressful, its so hard not to get attatched to a property. Last time we tried to sell a few years ago,our buyer pulled out the night before exchange and we were due to complete within a week as well, the whole house was boxed up. I just thought thats it, no more we are staying put.
Its easier said than done, but could you put it up for closer to the first valuation and just see what happens, give it a couple of months. If it doesn't sell there is always the option of moving next year, as you will have more equity if you have been oping like mad?

I love the photos by the way, Nat history is by absolute fav museum. But I think it should be followed by a bucket of popcorn and night at the museum dvd !

Pics are great, the children looked like they really enjoyed it.

Re: the house, as you know I wanted to move recently and got house ready to go on market pending a house viewing (which turned out to be unsuitable). Anyway, now we have decided (yet again) not to move I am really happy here. Yes there are changes we need/want to make which will be expensive but it's home after all and although we would have liked to move - we don't NEED to. I know circumstances are different for you re: being closer to family though.

Hope the weather stays dry for you to sort out the garden, it's sunshine and showers here.

Morning all, legs arent too bad but I think if I do the garden today then I will just make it worse. I might clear rubbish only so in my head I have done something lol

Re the house, I think deep down I do want to stay where I am but finding that other house made it easier to think of moving as the rooms were of similar size and the garden was huge, had two drives and a garage etc. I dont want to move sideways to a house smaller. The kids are only a few of years away from being independant so moving for help with them has been a bit late in coming and my sister has lots of help from other members of both sides of her family anyway.

Having found a m&s gift card when cleaning up for £20 I checked my other card I had left and that has £18 on it too :j so might have a browse around their site this morning

Great find re: the M&S cards. If it were me I would be tempted to buy something nice for the house so you like living there a little bit more - sometimes works for a little while for me!

Can't remember the exact details but isn't there a 10% offer on the homepage of this site?
