I have seen the houses and only one really stuck out for me, its on a corner plot so room for expansion. the kitchen and bathroom will need refitting and poss make the bathroom bigger to add a shower. This is the only house that DS2 has really liked, the others he wasnt bothered about but this one he likes. The third room is 10 x 7 so not bad size. The garden is huge and has garage too.
An old lady lived there for 23 years and so not much has not been done to it and has old light fittings and polystyrene tiles on all the ceilings. its 10 mins walk from school, shop round the corner, 20 min walk to town which is twice the size of here. Met the neighbours who are lovely and they have a 9 year old lad who instantly got on well with my two. We even went inside while we waited for the seller to come and let us back in when my sister arrived. Kids went upstairs to play and I had a cuppa lol. How cool is that!!

The only big thing putting me off is the road is slightly busy, not a main road but I think it might be a through road and we were there at 4-5pm and there is a block of flats behind the garden. The neighbours say they dont get bothered by them at all and you dont notice the road.

I have to book a appt with my mortgage providers now and see where I stand with that before I can do anything else. It would be nice to have neighbours my own age and kids in the street, we dont have that here.

My colleagues hubby is a carpenter, jack of all trades and he trained to do HIPPS before they cancelled it so I have asked if he can come and have a look at the house from a builders point of view and see what I can and cant do. I would like to put patio doors in where the sun room is and a ds loo somewhere and possibly make the kitchen a bit bigger as well. Sounds like I have lots of money doesnt it lol. Wishful thinking more like! Could do bit by bit. I wanted a bargain house that I could do up a bit at a time.

wont get too excited until I see the mortgage people and then get a valuation on my house to see where I stand.

Yay - there is some of the Pammy fighting spirit back out to play. Nothing stops you when you get on a roll like that. It sounds promising.

Sounds good pammy, definatly worth looking in to. Try not to get your hopes up too high though as these things fall through so often, our buyer a few years back pulled out the night before exchange ( we were due to complete 1 week later), its so hard to stop yourself when you fall in love with somewhere though. If you are meant to have it , you will do.

Maybe, but I keep looking around my house and thinking that needs doing and that needs touching up and so much needs to be hid away and the gpigs need to get an outside hutch and this and that etc. I could go on for weeks lol
Im going bingo tomorrow, going to win big and solve all my problems!! Have told neighbours of possibility and the elderly couple are not happy, the other side were also thinking of moving to the coast in a few years too (as they are mortgage, work and dependant free)
Have been reading up about setting your house up for sale haha, I have a long long way to go!!

Sounds like the house could be a future home. I know what you mean about getting your own house ready to sell though. I gave the lounge a good spring clean yesterday and realised if we still wanted to move that it was only a fraction of the cleaning that needed to be done. I was even tempted to pay a cleaning company to give it a once over!

Re: the improvements you want to do - you will be mortgage free before long so it could get done in the near future. If anyone can achieve their goals it's you.

If I get this house I will add 6 years back onto my mortgage term :( So I would be 52 when it finishes which isnt too bad if I never move again.
I thought about getting a cleaning company in lol how bad is that! I dont have a bump excuse just a lazy bum excuse!

I was going to start decluttering this weekend but my older sister has invited herself to stay :D so I might either have help or do absolutely nothing haha (I think the latter) I'm off Monday but she will go Monday morning and I will hopefully go and see Halifax in the afternoon.

Think I stil l might sort the kids toys out for rubbish/charity. Even if nothing goes ahead its good to spring clean :o

You should rope your sister into helping with the decluttering/cleaning. That's the way I tackled the cleaning, even though we aren't moving now house is clean and tidy (for a while!)

I hope if you do decide to move everything goes smoothly.

Thanks Cath. It would be nice to have a proper clean house for a short while. Kids would soon change that in a heartbeat though.
