Hi pammy, try not to worry about your house selling. In the end all you need is one person to walk in and love it and you never know what the other houses are hiding that have been on the market for months.
Lots of luck being ruthless in your clear outCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

I just know that I will throw something away that I will need but its good to have a clear out.
Spoke to the EA today about the houses I looked at and just let her know where I stand, which is in the middle of nowhere at the moment lol
I really need to get my ebay purchases out today as I forgot to do it yesterday on my day off, then my friend asked me to do design a certificate for her schools kids for a sponsored bounce so I got engrossed in that and finished that gone midnight (started at 11 anyway!) Better get on with it!MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

Just wanted to wish you luck, I know exactly how you feel as I did the same when I put my house on the market. It was a tip, clutter everywhere, but somehow (don't ask me how!) I managed to get it done in 2 weeks and on the market!
It is scary doing it all on your own, I basically quadrupled my mortgage and doubled the term, but I did it to get my kids into the catchment area of a particular school, and I don't regret it for a minue. With hard work I have managed to get the mortgage down to what I feel is a better amount (stands at about 88k now, and was 118k when I took it out 3.5 years ago:eek:), and I have also got the term down.
I'm not currently overpaying as unfortunately I have found a new addiction to Disney Cruise Line holidays after going on our first one this year and loving it, and booked again for next year, so thats taking all my spare funds! However, I've got the term back down to 13 years, so barring any unforseen circumstances it will be well paid off before I retire.
Anyway, am rambling now, just wanted to say I know you can do it - if I can then anyone can!0 -
I did actually think of you when I started this as I remember when you did it on your own a few years ago, although you are a stronger person than me but I thought I know LS did it on her own. I was aiming to get it done in a week maybe I am being optimistic (which isnt like me I am pessimistic pam lol)
Thanks for everyones comments. I dont think I need to rush getting the house ready, I will take my time because otherwise I will start to resent it. I just keep finding niggly things that need sorting that I cant do.
Right off to sort the floor lino for the gpig cage before it gets dark as DD is very excited to get them in tonight!MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

Pammy, you *are* strong. Most of us who are parenting alone feel that the others are the strong ones and are painfully aware of our own weaknesses. But really, you have already accomplished loads. Probably all of us in this boat have surmounted all sorts of challenges that we would never have imagined managing alone back in the days when life was a bit easier and we had partners and/or no kids.
If you want to move to this new place, you will manage all the things necessary to make it happen, and you will do it for the same reason you've managed all sorts of other stuff - because when it's got to be done, and there's nobody else to do it, somehow we rise to the occasion. And when it's over all your friends will say "Wow, that pammyj, she managed all that all by herself. She must be amazing." And you will think "You don't know the half of it. I panicked sometimes, and sometimes I cried, and I didn't do x, y or z as well as I think I ought to have done. I'm not amazing at all." But nevertheless you will be amazing, even though it will only be other people who can see it.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49

Lois' post says it all - you are so self sufficient because you have to be and because you can be - you will do it!
I am amazed by so many ppl on here, but non so by the single parents like you, as I struggle to o/p and keep up the determination to be MF on my own and I don't have the dependants or responsibility to take my money and time away from the task in hand.
If you want it, I have no doubt that you will get it!

aww thank you all. I think I just see the big objectives in front of me and its daunting but I just need to attack it step by step as you have all said. I think setting myself up for a fall by trying to get it done by the weekend was a silly goal so next weekend is my target now.
Its good to read back all your comments, even though you dont know me in person as I dont really have that from family and friends.
gpigs are now in their new home outside and have been looking around but havent found the upstairs yet where their cosy bed is. The old huge indoor open cage is now disassembled and the base is in bits waiting to go to the tip (which annoyingly was closed today when I went to take some drawers and is closed tomorrow as well grr)
I now have my dining room back to normal and it looks blooming huge but slightly wierd now. my table looks lost in the middle haha.
I hope the gps are ok in their new cage overnight.
Did 12 ebays items this evening and got them out of the way, bit later than I normally do as I like to get them done straight away but hey ho, done now.
My back is so aching. I feel like an old woman when I should have more get up and go than this really. DD counted my list of things to do to sort the house out and there was 50 items, she also pointed out I had only done 16 of them lol and I am adding new things onto it all the time arrghhh.
At least if I dont sell my house will look nice for a while until the kids get back to normal. How on earth do people keep their house nice for potential viewings all the time!MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

Who knows! After working loads of shifts this week and preparing for interview my house has been neglected and I am quite relieved we didn't put it on the market.
When do you think it will be ready to be valued/marketed?June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0
