People who live like that all the time have to be constantly at it, which is far from natural to me. I'd rather let my kids have a bit of freedom and be less stressed by it all.

See, 16 items done, you are making progress, and it is not like that is all you are doing all day, or you have all day to do it. I would find it hard and i am here all day. I guess more so as my kids are younger and perhaps more demanding.

I am aiming to have the house ready by next weekend I hope.
Bought a new microwave today as mine is old and knackered, It doesnt quite fit on the brackets but it will have to do now! Also bought a fryer yesterday with vouchers. All things I would take with me anyway.
I am having a day off from it today as I woke up this morning and my back is aching and my legs were like jelly!

Just had a call to say my car is ready so will get it back tomorrow evening yay! Although will miss the size of the boot in the focus I have had when clearing stuff out :(

At least if I dont sell my house will look nice for a while until the kids get back to normal. How on earth do people keep their house nice for potential viewings all the time!

I don't, I just go into panic mode when I have a viewing (not that there has been that many)

I remember when we were selling our old house. It had been on the market 6 weeks with no viewings. EA rang one morning wanting to bring someone round immediately (he had viewed another house locally which he didn't like) and they wanted to give me 10 mins notice. I was sat there in my dressing gown and the house was not exactly spotless! We compromised on half an hour, I whizzed round like an idiot - any visible items got shoved in drawers and cupboards (couldn't find things for weeks!)

Having said that - he did buy our house!
    June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!

6 weeks without viewings  and then the first one buys it. wow thats good lol.

Can you give rules to EAs. I work part time so will only be there in the evenings. Would I need to be more flexible and let them have a key for the daytime? (presuming I leave the house spotless lol) or can I ask for a couple of hours notice at weekends etc? I have never sold before, this is my first owned house.

The car has been in the garage for the past two weeks and the bodyshop people drove the car back to me today and say the front suspension is shockingly bad and very dangerous to drive and it shouldnt have been sold to me like that.
I did not take a warranty out as I expected there to be no problems with a newish car just passed its mot a month before purchase.

Do I have a leg to stand on in getting them to fix it?
It did not occur from the accident as from the start I thought the suspension was hard and it felt every bump in the road but I am just a single mum who knows nothing about cars, I just thought it was normal to possibly be like that and had to live with it.
I only now know because the garage man drove it home and then took it back to his boss to double check who also confirmed.

I rang the carshop who say the bodyshop people are probably blowing it out of proportion and the car had a full MOT but they say take it to their garage so they can check it out. (going in morn)

Its unbelievable that I have had bangers all my driving life and never had an accident and now this all happens with this new car.

    Any advice would be great.

House is now put on the back burner til I know about the car. God knows how much it will cost me if they wont pay.

This is what is checked on a car as part of its MOT

    SUSPENSION

    Under bonnet checks
    • Upper suspension joints
    • Any other suspension components which
can be inspected from beneath the bonnet

    Under vehicle checks
Both the front and rear suspension are checked to ensure.
    • No split pins or nuts missing, no components broken or bent
    • Road springs function effectively, no excessive wear
    • Suspension joints function effectively, no excessive wear
    • Shock absorbers must not leak and must be secure (the vehicle will be 'bounced' by the Tester to check that they damp the springs adequately).

Suspension is checked for wear by the assistant applying loads in various ways with the wheels jacked up whilst the Tester observes the result from beneath the vehicle.

I would ask body shop people what they think is wrong

What reg is your car, as it would have to be 3 years old to need a MOT

12 months radish oh my word, poor you hun x

yes it is just 3 years old in feb.
I will just have to wait and see what the garage say tomorrow I think and just hope for the best outcome. I just cant understand why things like this keep happening to me. I must have been bad in a previous life lol.

Have sorted out the kids toy cupboard/shelves that were over flowing and the outcome is third to the following - charity/bin/keep :) The shelves are much tidier now, DSs sofa bed has gone to tip (one good thing about having hire car, it was big enough to get that in!) so his room is next to tackle.

Was trying to do my ebay before the car came back but didnt get that done in the end. I hate having them outstanding.

I have been paid two lots of working and child tax credits. Whilst I think wow this would be a great windfall I do think its a mistake. I asked for a copy of last years breakdown and he had to apply again so I think it may have thrown another payment my way one yesterday as normal and one today. Dont know whether to ring them or not as I know they would be really busy this time of year.
