    Thanks Minnie.

Now I've come out of the closet and gone public, I wouldn't dare stop.

My daughter is very sporty and lean, but I can see that my son could end up like me. It's easier to help him now at 8 than to leave him and risk him suffering bullying in a few years.

As you say, we must lead by example.

You can adopt me if you like!

    I'd love to.

How are you at hula hooping and frisbee?

    Ooh, can I join in?

Debt-wise, I owe about £3,500 to my dad (lost my job, so that covered mortgage etc for 1st 9 months), luckily no interest there and hopefully will be paid up soon if and when I ever get my compensation from car accident. And about £7000 in student loans which, as I graduated in 2000 I've not paid anything off (never earnt enough). I tend not to really think of that though when I worry about debt, I guess because I know it'll be awhile until I am earning enough.

Weight-wise, the accident and ensuing health problems meant I couldn't go to the gym so have gained approx 3 stone, I'd like to lose at least 2.

Right now I've had my first few consecutive backpain-free weeks and am feeling cautiously optimistic about starting to exercise. I think it'll have to be gentle though and low-impact so no running.

Can't afford to go to the gym as still unemployed, so maybe making the effort to walk each day. I thought maybe instead of buying a paper from the local newsagents (2mins walk away), go to the nearest supermarket (15/20mins walk each way).

    I also have a hula-hoop and skipping rope :)
some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it :)

My update (if anyone cares!!).. I've managed to lose 9.5lb in 11 weeks! I'm well chuffed as I've still been eatting my chocolate biscuits and takeaways (slightly less often though)!!

So just need to lose the same again for August and I'll be at my target for my indoor sky dive in October. It kinda makes me more determined to lose more then 9.5lb over this next 11 wk period, but I'm not promising anything!!

Thanks LookingAhead! I already run up the stairs, much to my colleagues's amusement! Going again today as legs aren't hurting too much from yesterday...

Welcome JailhouseBabe, it is very nice and encouraging here, def better than doing it on your own! I have a hulahoop too but I can't find it, how have I managed to lose such a big thing!! Must have a decent look this evening...

Spud - your children are lucky, I would have loved it if my mum was like that but she wasn't really into running around playing. Although to be fair when we were little she would sometimes get up and dance with me and my sis if some good music came on, which was also good!

    Thanks Badgergal

I tend to beat myself up about the years I have wasted sat doing nowt, rather than look at things in a more positive way.

My kids aren't back at school until next week, so off to act daft again this afternoon.

Doing a spreadsheet this morning of the contents of our cupboards as we want to try the OS Storecupboard Challenge.

I just want to lose weight either the incredibly lazy way (that's my favourite) or else the incredibly hard way (army training, tough, fantastic, but a killer and not too cheap).

Buying stuff to use at home is just more clutter to hang the washing on to dry and another thing to dust.

Used to enjoy jogging until a big dog almost attacked me, now bloody terrified of going out and getting attacked by dogs - or humans...

I've decided I'm going to a weekly exercise class just to start me off and I might take up running again. It's a fiver a class....

Sit ups really worked for me before - done daily I saw results in just 2 weeks, and I'm a pretty big bird...!

I've never been able to do sit ups - think I was born without muscles in that area !!!

I will give it a go and see if I can do it.

Will have to wait until the dog is outside or she will jump on me if I lie on the floor!

I'm back on the FFW wagon!! (yum, made me think of wagon wheels...)

I was back at gym Sunday after the first time in about 10 days, and also went yesterday AM & this morning.

I weighed myself at gym and I am 12st exactly, so although I havent been to gym & have been eating rubbish (3 bars of Lindt chocolate in one week anyone??) I've kind of lost weight? Or perhaps I was less than I thought & have put some on, so I am pretty happy!!

With 6 weeks until I move out of London & wont have access to the gym I have to stick to it!! A stone would be fab to get rid of, but I know I'll have to bust a gut going to the gym to do it!!

Once again my sister text and has lost 12lbs - she just knows when I have started back at the gym, its scary!!

I cant go to Oz being this size. I'm not huge, but have been meaning to shift a couple of stone for years now!!

What am I like? x

Can i join you all!!! I would really like to drop a stone or two and tone up. Cant ever find the motivation to get up and do it!
I have 3 under 4's so you would think i didnt have tiome to eat and always rushing around but i have grown over the last 2 years (2 pregnancies!). I really want to get in to walking - i love in beautiful country side and lots of hills to get muscles working but my eldest (nearly 4) hates it. The other 2 are pushed and dont seem to mind! Any ideas of good excerise including the 3 kids?!
