I thought you might all appreciate this website: http://www.fluideffect.com It's the site of a professional photo retoucher, for magazines and the like. The 'hectic' for me has been spending 10 hours a day at a computer retouching photos (don't ask...... ) and someone mentioned this site out of interest. But I think its most interesting for the magazine images etc, it shows before and after images of the retouching done to models in advertising etc before the images are published. Click on "before/after" to see the images and there's a button to switch between before and after - fascinating the difference between the two.

Wow, thanks kathfisch - fab website. I cant believe how different the people look!! I honestly didnt realise that people were airbrushed - not to that extreme though!! How on earth can we compete? Thanks for posting the link xxx

Glad you all like it!! I always knew that some changes were made but, like you say, not how extreme it is and how different they can make them look! If only one magazine could make a stand and try not to use such pictures, but then I guess the models wouldn't agree :o

I don't know how to do that kind of retouching though, wish I did! I've just been taking dust and scratches off scanned negatives (for 81 images  ) so not quite as glamorous :rotfl:

Wow - makes you think. I knew they did it but some of the things that they retouch just don't seem to need it. Just doesn't make any sense.

Sorry guys but the diet thing really isn't working for me at the moment so I'm taking some time out from it. My main objective at the moment is to maintain the weight I lost a while back at the current level. I'm just not mentally "in the zone" if that makes sense to the rest of you. Although hard work last year I didn't find it that tough because I was really mentally up for it. Now regardless of what I keep telling myself it just ain't going in (or rather it :rotfl: ).

So I've decided to stop beating myself up about it.
Best of luck to the rest of you :T :T :T

    Hi all.

Hope you're having a good weekend.

Weekly weigh-in this morning has revealed just one pound off this week, but that's better than one pound on! As I've replaced the gym with the library this week, I don't think that's half bad!

    Back to the books then!

    Have a good week!

I started running about 3 weeks ago as I'm training for the Race for Life, and along with that and not eating inbetween meals (actually, eating only 2 good meals) I've lost a stone in about 6 weeks and I'm getting fit as well!!

Hi Wizwoo!! Dieting is tough at the best of times, but not much fun when you're in debt too. You cant spend money & you cant eat bad food - not much fun is it? Thats why I put losing weight off until now as I couldnt cope with doing the two things at once. Although I'm struggling now too  !! You'll lose it when the time is right - dont give yourself a hard time, but still try and eat somewhat healthily, 5 a day & 2 litres of water - that way you are still doing your body some good!! Best of luck & look forward to seeing you back here soon. xx
