Yes Body Pump is a class of about an hour long. You use a barbell with weights on and various handweights to work lots of different muscle groups.
Usually focus on 1 muscle group for the duration of one song - eg squats at a fast pace during chorus and then slower in verses. Then move on for next song to chest / arms / lunges / back & shoulders etc.
Its very good for toning up those muscles!! I find it impossible to motivate myself to do weights on the gym floor for a whole hour but the time in the class just flies by!!0 -

Definately, but you ache so much after the first time you've done it, but you soon get used to it. Its such a good class, hard work, but not impossible & you see results very quickly!!
I walked part of the way home last night, about 4 miles. Didnt make it to the gym this morning, but may go tonight or walk some of the way home again..
Got some blood test results back and can you believe I've got high cholestorol - at 25 I am truly shocked!! I did have an unhealthy few weeks before the blood test, so I hope it was just a result of that rather than a long term thing as I'm usually quite healthy & exercise etc. A bit gutted!!
I've been so good & its only been a week, wish the weight would drop off overnight!! xx0 -

I might try a bodypump class!!
Cool! 4 miles, that's good!!
What do you have to do about the high cholesterol?
My friend is now going to buy the Cambridge Diet liquid thingy:rolleyes:
Wouldn't be healthy if it dropped off overnight!!

Definately try it - its fab!! I love going.
4 miles isnt bad - kind of got lost, so instead of walking to vauxhall I ended up in Battersea. Doh!! But it didnt matter as it was in a similiar direction.. :rotfl:
Cambridge diet? Dont think I could live off that - same as slimfast!! I'd rather eat a balanced diet....!!
I know, but I need the weight to come off quicker or at least come off full stop. I am so running out of time, and short of going to the gym twice a day or eating nothing, it's not going to happen!! Sick of being fat!!
The doc just said to keep an eye on my lifestyle. She asked me if I exercised (which I do) or drunk a lot of alcohol (which I dont) - and my diet is relatively healthy, but as a colleague at work said, the results dont differentiate between good & bad cholestoral, so it might not be as bad as I think - will just keep an eye on things. Also lacking in Vit B12.....!!!!!
You know though, in the same way you repay debt I wish I could have the weight taken off me & repay it back (that makes no sense whatsoever, but I know what I mean!!) :0)
I do think that I am single because of my weight. Not that I am not confident, but I genuinely think that men dont fancy me as I am...! :cool:0 -
Hey Ms London.....you're single cos you haven't met the right person NOT because of the way you look!!!
At 25 you should go and enjoy yourself (you'll have a riot in Oz - lucky c*w:D ) and don't think about being single....I always found that when I thought about that I never met anyone and the moment I stopped they started popping out of the woodwork....so to speak. One will come along when you least expect it...they always do. In fact, they tend to come along in 3's, just like buses, and then you have the fun of choosing which one to catch!!
Bodypump eh? Sounds interesting...this requires some research.
Where does one go to get cholestorol tests and such? I don't have a doctor (all local lists full) so any tips?0 -

Thanks freebird65 - it would just be nice to get some attention & have someone fancy me at least!! Boo Hoo!!
You know, someone who likes me & wants to spoil me - a part time boyfriend would be fab right now.!
BP - def try it. Its low impact (not much moving around), but it definately works!!
I think some healthclubs may do the cholesterol test, my doc was testing my thyroid but did a few other tests at the same time... Thats not very good if your docs are full????????
At least today is going quick.. :j0 -

Body Pump is definatly worth looking into! It changes your body shape in a very positive way!!
As for the cholesterol tests, a friend of mine regularly goes round all the gyms in the city for a 'free induction & fitness assessment'. I know at least one of them did a cholesterol test as a part of that - and you get to use the facilities for free too - as long as you let them belive you are going to pay to join sometime afterwards!0 -

Hmmmm, must have a think about that one.
:rotfl: :rotfl: You should get lost more often! You can find great things like that!!
Bet you're not fat!!! Stop stressing about it and love yourself!! You'll have a lot more fun that way!
No, I think she is very silly for doing it:rolleyes: This is the friend I talked about before. She's not fat!
I think that is silly, bet blokes fancy you but you just don't let yourself see it!:p And anyway, that's a bad way to think, that a bloke will only fancy you if you're slim. Don't let those magazines brainwash you!!
