Well I'm gonna be working this weekend so hope I lose loads of weight. I feel well lazy I've not been out in ages lol. Haven't even been arsed to weigh myself recently lol but some of my barometer clothes seem a little loser than normal which I suppose is a mixed blessing as I like em tight lol

Oh well cuddlies, have a fab weekend and take loads of photos. Don't splurge too much and looking forward to catching up with y'all next week.

    Laters!
  • Hello fellow cuddlies - im back!

Well after 4 days in Center Parcs full of biking and running i have high hopes for tommoro's weigh in. Although i have eaten quite a lot too and so maybe they'll cancel each other out :-(

Hows it been going on here?

    Good evening all

Hope you're all well, time for a quick progress report from me!

This lovely weather has been a complete tonic to me, I've had a day on the beach, a day wandering in the hills and then today I decided I needed a hair-cut - so the car stayed in the garage and I walked the 4.5 mile round trip to the barbers and back in the sun, then I went to the gym in the afternoon and for a bike ride with my brother this evening. I`m getting much more confident in my body now too, so have been able to whip my t-shirt off and started quite a nice build up of sun tan. :)

My money saving isn't doing too badly either, despite my wibble earlier in the week (thanks for the support btw). Helped a long way by work purchasing the new laptop I wanted, and thus saving my adding £1500 to my credit card! Since then I've been doing well.

Should be a fairly low cost weekend, but sadly I don't get chance to excercise much, if it all, but I'll make sure I keep away from those cakes and biscuits for my Monday weigh in, I'm hoping for 11st 11lbs so we shall see.

    Have a lovely weekend cuddlies

Hi all - happy weekend to you!

Shocking week here at Spender Towers.

The sun came out and so did my suitcase of last year's summer clothes in an effort to find something cool to wear for work until payday when I can go and buy a few suitable office-y type things to wear. Oh, the horror! Out came a variety of very pretty summer dresses - plenty of vivid prints, silk, sequins and linen - none of them fitting properly and definitely nothing suitable for work! So I spent the week dressed in black and feeling freakish - and fat!

Three lunches out this week in an effort to maintain some kind of social life and some kind of contact with chums. Result? Bank balance reducing and waist line expanding. Wrong way round!

Revision - ah, well, it was all going so well until the migraine arrived on Wednesday and stayed until Friday. Still managed to get something done, but whether it stays in my head remains to be seen.

    Gym? :rotfl: I think not!

Weigh-in this morning - 2lbs off! How did THAT happen? Who cares? It's made my week!:T

May be back later on - for now I have big plans to sort out the overstuffed cupboard I've been avoiding for months before hitting the books again. Maybe I'll find hidden treasure!

Hi everyone!! Right, well my healthy eating plan started yesterday!! Definately had my 5-a day & 2 litres (probably more) of water, and today I plan to do the same.!! Did a big shop yesterday & got LOADS of fruit/veg from the market (SO much cheaper.....!!). Managed the gym yesterday although my balance was a bit off so just ran for a few minutes & walked the rest, will go today after work too....

The scales said I was around 12st 7lb so have put on a few pounds but am not suprised as really had an "off" few weeks!! Its never just an "off" day with me - I go from one extreme to the other!!

I go to Oz in 12 weeks (11 on Thursday) so its a bit scary & I do need to get a move on. Even if I lost a 1lb a week I would be happy (although its also a bit disheartening when you bust a gut at the gym etc to only lose a 1lb!!)..

Today I have a tortilla with a spoon full of red pepper humous with cucumber & tomato. I also have a few sunflower seeds & raisins & a few apricot bits for a snack. Tonight I have a stuffed red pepper (stuffed with courgette, onion, mushroom & tomato) with a chicken breast.....

Hope you dont mind me sharing that :0) Any tips/comments would be appreciated........

I just dont seem to want it badly enough as I always start off well but it never happens!! xx

Your healthy eating sounds really good ms_london, well done you! I know what you mean about not keeping it going though, i find it really hard to sustain my motivation.

I was talking to my mum about this a few months ago and wondering whether there can be emotional issues affecting our attempts to lose weight, even after we think we've dealt with the issues that made us eat in the first place! I do occassionally have lapses in the spending regime but lapses on the eating/exercise front are much more frequent and harder to resist, I wonder why.

I've demonstrated to myself that I have the will power to resist spending but, when it comes to food, its just not that easy. I get into a little argument with myself, kind of challenging myself to prove that I have the willpower to resist (chocolate or whatever) and feeling really pleased if I do. But there always seems to be a part of me that isn't committed to that, that doesn't want to resist despite all the rewards (money, health, figure).

I know that my overeating and not caring about the way that I looked was definitely influenced by emotional issues, self esteem etc. I didn't think very highly of myself, or see why anyone else should. I wanted to avoid being the subject of attention from the opposite sex because of my own confusion over sexuality - being overweight and not dressing in a flattering way took care of that!! I am much more concious of all these things now and have dealt with them to some extent but still I think they're there under the surface and holding me back

Sorry to waffle cuddlies, the supportive atmosphere on here brings out the confessional, emotional side of me  :o

    Good luck everyone :D

Waffle away - it's what we're here for!

I think what you say about carrying extra weight and emotional issues has a lot of truth to it. I've read somewhere that people use fat as a "cushion" or protection against the world. Then again, one of the thinnest women I know is a bundle of nerves and manages to keep the world away by sheer force of personality! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: But that's a different story!

I often wonder if we put pressure on ourselves because of external factors. The fashions for certain body types is an obvious example. If we lived in the 1950s, would we worry about our extra curves, or just pour them into girdles and get on with it? Marilyn never worried about being a size 16, did she?

On a lighter (!) note, I've been reading up on feng shui after following an amusing thread on the Old Style board. Apparently, clutter around the house translates into clutter around the body! Hence, I have nearly finished "de-cluttering" a cupboard today! I'll keep you posted if that has any effect on the scales next week!

Chin up, chicken. You're doing all the right things. Just make sure you're happy while you do them.

You have just struck a chord with me. I am the same, feeling proud of myself that I don't spend very much anymore but don't seem to be able to carry the same discipline through to my eating. I know I am eating more than I should but ... keep doing it!

    Hi folks

Haven't posted on this thread for a while, as I had a bit of a "bad patch" weight-wise:o , and didn't think my input would be terribly helpful here... ("put on again this week, put on again this week, stayed the same this week, put on again this week", etc etc!!).

However, I hauled my "ever-expanding bottom" back onto the wagon this week:p , and finally had a loss at WW on Friday and am feeling more focussed again, so I have updated my signature and am back on board again.:T

Will try to stick with it and be a more supportive member of the thread going forwards. Well done to those who have had a good week this week, and big hugs :grouphug: and lots of support to anybody who needs them.
