amosworks wrote:Mmmmm MinnieSpender that lunch sound so nice I'm salivating already!! Did you plan it to be low-carb or is that a coinsidence? I think I'm going to have this for lunch tomorrow! I got a craving for a waldorf salad the other day which was then replaced by a Chinese takeaway and has now been replaced by this lol.
Hey! Well done you on your weightloss! :j
I didn't plan the salad to be low carb - but I have noticed that if I eat carbs for lunch (usually in the form of a sandwich) I feel really bloated all afternoon. Maybe I'm just listening to my body! :rotfl:
On the apple question - I love them and if I'd known they could help weight loss I'd have been eating shedloads before! I did read in a magazine some time ago that there is an apple diet - basically you eat an apple before every meal. It didn't particularly convince me at the time as it came with a very meagre diet plan with the usual "eat a lettuce leaf and stick of celery for lunch" type of rubbish.
Anyways, I did a google and found this if anyone wants to know more about apples and weightloss:

Happy crunching! What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -
Oh my gosh freebird65, I hope you're not in too much pain at the moment
Teeth pains are the worse, it's like how far inside your head can the pain go!? Nghaa
I really thought the apple links was great MinnieSpender, I love apples but don't eat nearly enough TBH. I ought to though, but I'm a huge believer in drinking lots of water. I actually would prefer an apple to a kitkat or something in all honest. But saying that, if it was Apple vs Snickers Bar, my choice probably wouldn't be so healthy
I like the big green juicy crunchy apples best! Don't like the red onesToo squishy +o(

Empire apples are red and crunchy only if you buy them at tesco, have just eaten one.My best exercise is putting on the kind of music that gets your toes tapping and then dancing wildly all the way through the track. You can do this as many times as you like but after a prolonged period it does work. Ps got the idea from a tv ad for a radio where a guy went from fat to skinny just by dancing to his radio. Does anyone remember it? I remember the song was a disco hit but cant remember the name of the girl who sang it, the title had love in it.The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

Fab idea tesuhoha! A little silliness is good for the soul! I'll be giving that a whirl once I can.

You can go from fat to think through dance
Do you have how many songs written by women that have the word "love" in?!? I guess it was a pop song, so the first one that comes to mind is Candi Staton - You've Got The Love.0 -
Hi everyone,
I've only read bits and pieces of this thread but think I've got the gist and would like to join please? I am lots and lots overweight and have tried every diet under the sun. Basically if someone tells me I can't have it, I want it then I have it in spades. I am rubbish.
I'd like to go on a scottishspendaholic healthy eating plan - I know all the principles but just need support and willpower to put them into action - can I count on you guys to help me with that? I'm not keen to weigh myself as I don't have any scales here (can't afford any!) and can't afford and don't want to go back to a slimming class. I think I'll be able to tell if its working by my body and my clothes, hopefully anyway.
Am I allowed to join? I'm miserable being so horribly unhealthy and overweight.

Thanks MinnieSpender! It was your post about your yummy rocket and mackrel salad that really inspired me - they are definitely on my shopping list for tomorrow.
