hmm, that's a toughie, I think my favourite food/s, (can't just have one) have got to be, indian takeaway, and any item from the bakery, be it fresh jam doughnuts (yum!) or sausage rolls! jeez, no wonder I find it hard to lose any weight!! and biscuits, i could eat the whole packet, and of course, chocolate!
and prawn crackers...

Thank you Annando and Batfink for your good wishes.
Without wanting to appear crude, I think the uptake in apple consumption and more portions of fruit and veg generally have, erm, "loosened" things up a bit! Let's just say that my digestion is a whole lot better!
If anyone's interested, I'm not following an particular regime - Atkins (I don't eat meat), Weight Watchers or Slimming World - although well done to those of you who are getting results that way. I'm not a great one for rules... if I see one, I want to break it! I don't know if anyone will find it useful, but a sample day is something like this:
Breakfast - bowl of porridge with berries (strawberries or blueberries - I think using tinned is fine and a whole lot cheaper than fresh), a sprinkle of pumpkin seeds and a dash of honey.
Mid morning - apple
Lunch - modest sized lunchbox of salad - I use rocket, tomato, cucumber, pepper, olives, sprouted seeds and pine nuts. I take a quarter lemon to work with me and squeeze it over the salad just before I eat it. Add a tin of mackerel (in tomato sauce), sardines or cheese (cottage, red Leicester, mozarella).
Mid afternoon - apple
Dinner - steam some haddock, new potatoes, broccoli - dribble some olive oil and lemon juice over the top.
Just before bed - nice hot drink and a couple of hobnobs.
Drink lots of water/green tea throughout the day.
Don't forget to move!
As Harvey would say "keep it going!"
Good luck all! What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -
freebird65: What are your favourite foods? I'm nosey
Mine is mayonnaise. Everything else is a side order lol.[/QUOTE]
I do like mayo...just not oceans of it at a time....but I could happily live on full fat cheese, salami, fish, veg and vodka!!! LOL If it wasn't for this tooth situation I would go and make myself a hot steak salad for dinner...yummmm.
Last time I did Atkins I used to have ham & mushroom omelettes with loads of melted cheese for breakfast, salad for lunch and fish or chicken or steak for dinner. Never felt hungry, had tons more energy than normal and lost stacks of weight. Putting it on again (and then some) is purely down to my appalling lifestyle.....and a total lack of exercise since I quit my job and started working from home. The point made by the guy who caused so much upset was valid in a way, but takes some serious discipline and like everyone else (although on a far lesser scale than some!!!) I had other things to think about....and since I developed a bad habit of slobbing around in tatty old sweatshirts and trackies (with knackered elasticated waistbands!) I didn't really notice.....not until it was too late anyway!
I've chucked them all out now and as each clothing size become too baggy, I'm going to keep throwing them out so I haven't got any comfy larger clothes to put on and kid myself I'm not putting on weight!
Right...it's Friday night and time to go and play......on the sofa in front of the telly! Enjoy your evening's one and all.....be good...and if you can't be good...blimmin well enjoy it!0 -

I couldn't do Atkins if it wasn't for vodka. I don't drink, but it's comforting to know it's there if I ever changed my mind.
I hope your tooth is getting better now, what's the current sitrep?
Regarding slobbing around in baggy clothes, there's nothing at all wrong with that. I work at home too and sometimes I just don't get dressed in the morning lol. My housemate and pets complain a lot though  I've got a belt which I used to use all the time, I made new notches on it when I got really fat, but as I lost weight I moved all the way to the other end and had to make about 7 smaller notches on it. Then it got to the point where it looked stupid and those new style belts came in to fashion (they've got a name but can't remember, they have an adjustable friction clamp in the buckle?). I totally agree with you that elastic is a dieters best friend, and if you don't want to be reminded of the "d" word then breaking the elastic is a great solution
I give away all my larger clothes to charity shops so I don't get tempted to regain - I think it's great that you also get rid of your larger clothes as motivation. I'm currently hovering between a size 12-14. In the next fortnight I'm only going to wear size 12 and that will make me feel fatter so I'll lose more I hope.
Anyway, I did my week weigh-in today on the bathroom scales. I've been an extremely good boy and this week have only had 5 meals. I've also reduce the amount of cola I drink from about 10 litres to about 2! For me this is a big dealI've been drinking more bottled water (don't drink tap 'cause of the Flouride eeeeh) and my ketosis has been in 5th gear every single test I did this week!!
I walked to a letterbox and did some hoovering this week also, so no chance for any muscle growth to push my weight up. I was hoping to smash through my weight-loss plateau this week by being really strict.
My grand weight loss total for this week is...
...6lbs!
I'm well chuffed, I was only expecting around 4. Maybe not drinking so much cola had something to do with it? That's the only thing I've really changed a lot.
This weekend I'm gonna mong about and get some admin stuff done, potter around in the garden a bit and eBay some junk so I should be pretty much the same weight come Monday. Just another 64lbs to go now! Like my debts, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel but I know I've still got to wait for it to happen. I'm impatientMeh.

morning all!
hoping for a fat free weekend! just digging in to shreddies and orange juice as we speak, very healthy.
amosworks - congrats! 6 lbs is excellent, well done! :j don't know how much I've lost this week, will find out on monday, weighing in day at home!
chinese takeaway last night was yummy, and I limited myself to just the one plate this time, and only a few prawn crackers even though I love them, so I'm quite proud of myself for that.
Hope everyone has a healthy weekend!!

Talking about apples being good for your digestion Minniespender I read recently that apples are the best cure for acid indigestion. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

Morning all!
Woow Amos! That is really fantastic 6lbs!!!! Well done!
I feel ashamed of myself, haven't had the courage to weigh myself / go to SW and only getting weighed in 10 days time! You have all lost so much! Congratulations!
We are off to the New Forest so will do lots of walking today!
My favourite food is...unfortunately Chocolate! But if I was to choose proper food I quite like pasta (that's the Italian in me), and rocket salad (LOVE IT, almost as much as chocolate!
) and cheese (I do love cheeeeeese Grommit! I'm crackers about cheeeese!)
Apples are really good for you, and great for loosing weight, don't know why but they really seem to work!0 -
Thanks you guys, I definitely think it's the coke that made a difference. I used to go through so much that cutting back has really made a difference I'm convinced. There's a whole post on it at the Health board now. Evil stuff0

Fantastic effort Amos... :T ....not sure I could only cope with 5 meals in a week though - I love my food too much!!!
Enjoy the walking Annando...sounds fab! All I'm doing is lying on the sofa in front of the telly......but I have an excuse...just got back from dentist and the whole right side of my face is numb and I've been fleeced to the tune of £230  for a torture session which was merely a prep.....sob. Mind you....first weigh in on Tues should be great as I can't eat a thing...except paracetamol.
Hopefully it's still sunny tomorrow so I can go for a nice long walk!!0
