Good luck everyone, I'll report back when I've weighed myself properly!
Welcome!!! Make yourself at home!!!

I have never had a weight problem, stayed around 11 stone since my teens.
I do have heart disease so, for the past 17 years I have had to stick to a fat-free diet top keep the cholesterol down.
Then, around a year ago I realised that my trousers were getting tight at the waist.
Soon they were very, very tight.
So I did some research on tinternet and ended up doing sit ups and walking a lot more, although I have been walking as heart exercise I did even more.
Gradually my trousers got less tight, now they fit ok again.
I don't know, because I didn't weigh myself, what my weight was doing during this period.
Sorry for long-winded story but my point is this - as you put weight on your clothes stop fitting, do you just go out and buy new and bigger?
Why not start exercising/dieting at this point.
Surely it's not very MSE to go out buying bigger and bigger clothes as you get bigger?0 -
I'm not entirely sure what point you're making 110frankie? I think if we were all perfect and had never put excess weight on in the first place, we'd not have got into debt either so would never have so much as joined the forum - sadly thats not the case.
Welcome Piglet and Shazzer to our 'cuddle' - nice to see you here
And most important of all - well done MinnieSpender!!
Good morning to everyone else, hope you're all going to be good today.

Well I tried the Slimfast diet - managed the grand total of one shake before giving up. It made me feel so ill - I spent the whole morning wondering if I was going to be sick and I was all hot and itchy. _pale_ Weirdly, my mum had to seek medical attention because of an allergic reaction to Slimfast several years ago! Thought I would be fine but it appears not!
Allergic to dieting - I like that!
Anyhoo, it's back to proper sensible eating now then - no gimmicks! Hubby still sticking to Slimfast as he had no weird reaction.
My cold is a lot better now so am planning on going for a nice walk today.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member No.11.

sorry, I did ramble a bit.
The point I was trying to make was that don't you notice the extra inches as clothes get tighter and, therefore, start the diet or exercise rather than go out and buy a whole new wardrobe ?
You don't go up from a size 10 to a size 16 overnight - it happens gradually and, more to the point, it is noticeable because one size of clothes doesn't fit any more.0 -

Thank you so much for your post 110frankie, it was so helpful!
It just made me realise what a horrible person I have been for the past...well for a VERY LONG time! There I was paying attention to unimportant things like my father getting killed and the family falling apart, my mother and brother going through depression and I having to keep it together. You are right, I should have paid more attention to how tight my trousers were getting instead of feeling like a worthless s**t when I was raped.
I know I will get to my goal weight and I will also be debt free, and once I am "picture perfect" I will sure keep your words in mind and will not let life interfere with plans in the future! I will also keep in mind my grand-father's wise words..."The road to hell is paved with good intentions, so never be judgemental!"
I am sure all here in this thread feel so much better now that we have someone to look up to! What an inspiration to us all 110frankie should be!

Thanks pigeongirl, I love hugs, but you are right I am not after sympathy. I just don't like people who are a bit fast on the judgemental trigger.
I might have given too much info on myself there, sorry for that, but I think it is very easy for people to say "Oh...watch your spending..." "oh...watch your waist..." without realizing that life is what happens to you while you are not watching.
Plus...being nervous at the in-laws arriving today might have helped me being a bit...aggresive...
I am usually a very nice person, you can ask anyone who doesn't know me:rolleyes:

Morning all.
I'm another one on Slimming World. I tried Weight Watchers but I used to obsess about food as I felt I never had enough points for anything.
A good day yesterday, which will hopefully be followed by another good one today.
No exercise in as yet, but I may wander to the gym later today as I was working till eight last night so never made it.0
