    >>>Thanks pigeongirl, I love hugs, but you are right I am not after sympathy. I just don't like people who are a bit fast on the judgemental trigger.
I might have given too much info on myself there, sorry for that, but I think it is very easy for people to say "Oh...watch your spending..." "oh...watch your waist..." without realizing that life is what happens to you while you are not watching.

Plus...being nervous at the in-laws arriving today might have helped me being a bit...aggresive...

I am usually a very nice person, you can ask anyone who doesn't know me <<<

You post a rude attack on a comment posted in a true spirit of enquiry and then try to excuse it by saying you have the in-laws visiting.

Oddly enough you are not the only person on this ist who has had tragedy visit them - but 99.9 per cent of people here do not use that as an excuse for an outpouring of vitriol.

I trust you are really proud of yourself.

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a fantastic thread. I have just spent the last couple of hours reading this thread (inbetween doing some work!).

I have been trying to lose wieght since last Februaary and have managed to lose just over 2 stone. But since Christmas I cannot seem to get any enthusiasm to lose my last 10Ibs. I have been following the weight watchers points system. My Mum used to go the meetings and she bought me the books and journals and have just done it by myself at home.

The only thing that I am finding is that just before I started my diet I started a new job and needed some clothes, my previous job we had uniform provided. After about a month of starting my current job I started to lose weight, and since losing the 2 stone my clothes are now hanging off me and I cannot afford to buy myself some new clothes!

So at the moment I have been feeling so down as my clothes don't fit so I don't like the way I look so have just been comfort eating for the last three months and becasue my clothes are so baggy I have not really noticed a few pounds piling back on. Vicious circle!

So now I have decided to get back on the wagon and stop feeling sorry for myself and start a piggy bank for ME. I already have a piggy bank for any loose change I have to throw at my debt but what I shall do now is split it into two and then that way I will keep myself motivated and still be paying extra off my debts!

Sorry for the long essay but I feel so much better now.

    Welcome desperatelyseekingmoney!
Have you tried switching to another diet? WW to Slimming World or Atkins or anything else? I know they say the last 10 pounds are the hardest but I am sure you will be able to do it! Walking is excellent as well!
  • Thanks for the warm welcome Annando.

I am going to try and shift the last bit by just eating heathily and exercise. I try to go out for a walk in my lunch break and I do have a lateral Thigh Trainer that I try and go on at least 3 times a week. I am just hoping by doing the last bit this way I will just carry on with a more healthy lifestyle.

Wow - I go away for 24 hours and it's all go amongst the DFFW "Cuddle"!! (Great name Batfink).

Welcome piglet, shazzer & desperatelyseekingmoney to our rapidly growing Cuddle....or should that be a shrinking Cuddle?. Well done Minniespender on an excellent loss, to everyone else for their efforts and a big hug to Annando.

Went for meal out last night and was very good.....just one glass of wine while my mates sank 3 bottles AND I drank water. Unheard of for me. I'm supposed to be doing the WW thing and have my first weigh-in Tues...fingers crossed.

Have to say that this point counting lark is boring me rigid and Amos the Atkins Advocate is rapidly tempting me back into the fold.....especially after reading that mad menu of yours - some of my fave foods on there!

    :D
