Have just been given a bizarre boost in our quest.....whilst munching lovely carrot at lunch, I felt a crack.....ran to the bathroom only to see one of my back teeth had split in half
Have just come back from emergency appt at local dentist who has patched me up temporarily before I have a crown fitted on Sat. Have been advised to stick to soup and "soft" food and no chewing. So there go any vague thoughts of chocolate munching although a vodka tonight to numb the pain might be quite good!
That's one way of making me stick to it......now if 3 days on soup don't shift a few pounds, nothing will!:lipsrseal0 -
QueenB - well done with the water and I love your star chart idea...might try that too! Or one of those thermometer type things people do when raising money for charity to show the total raised....only in my case it will be the total lost!0

Wow, everyone's doing so well!
The bad news from me is that yesterday I bought a bar of chocolate, however the good news is that I haven't eaten it yet... have no idea why I bought it?! Think I'll see if I can hold off eating it until the weekend and then share it with OH.
Not doing too bad with the eating plan, although I've run out of muesli, so had to have crunchy nut cornflakes for breakfast. Lunch was a turkey and salad sandwich on wholemeal bread (with no butter/spread as weaned myself off that a few years back!) and an orange.
Exercise today has been 25 minutes walking back from town balancing several library books as I forgot to take a bag to carry them in! Don't think I'll be doing any more exercise today as I need to get on with planning and research for my business idea. Overall, I'm aiming for 30 mins exercise five days a week to get me back into exercise after a winter of laziness! :embarasse0 -
Have decided I need a boost to really get me in the mood for losing weight because I am full of good intentions at the moment but as soon as the telly goes on in the evening I am munching.
I am going to do Slimfast for a fortnight because I know I will definitely lose at least a few pounds on that and I can then break the comfort eating cycle I am in at the moment. My best friend and my hubby are doing it too so we can all support each other when the munchies set in!
Actually, I have to say that even though the milkshakes are pretty grim after the novelty wears off (that's after the first sip), they are very filling and I don't snack when I'm following the plan. However, I know it's not the healthiest option in the long term which is why I'm only planning to do it for two weeks.
My aim is to weigh 11 stone 7lbs by June 24th which is when my husband's best friend is getting married. I want to be able to fit nicely into a size 14 again. I'm quite tall so not aiming for a really low weight, am trying to be healthy and realisticOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member No.11.

Personally speaking , the coffee slimfasts are lovely, and they seem to be "going cheap/ on offer" pretty much everywhere when I did the slim fast plan:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
As I've been lurking for a while, and as I want to be debt free and fat free thought I better post.
My debts currently stand at £9383.01 and I'm hoping to be totally debt free by this time next year. Unfortunately this month has made me realise I've missed a few things from my SOA but over the next few months I shall be able to fine tune it and hopefully keep on track.
I've also been doing slimming world and in the last two weeks I've lost 4lbs. I weigh in again tomorrow so I'll see what happens there. I know paying for a slimming club isn't the most cost effective way, but having somone else weigh me gives me the motivation I need to stick to it. I don't have much weight I want to lose and I'm hoping to be at my ideal weight by June 15 when I go away for the weekend.
Right, I've rambled enough I think I might go hide again.0 -

Good to see another join us, as pigeongirl said the more the merrier.
Thanks freebird65, i think your thermometer idea is a good one as well. The kids are talking about making me certificates when i get to a certain number of stars, its great to see them so excited.
The big downer of the day was i did not get to go for my walkas just after lunch i was busy doing something, didn't look at where i was going and ended up whacking my little toe of a large whicker chest in my living room. At first i thought it was just a nasty bang but when i looked closer it turned out that i had cut the top of my toe open. Doesn't seem to be deep enough to need a hospital visit but it is pretty nasty and very very sore.
So instead of my walk i have been left barely able to hobble around the house, hoping its alot better by tomorrow so i can make up for today.
Anywa must hobble off and start my healthy dinner :rotfl:Success means having to worry about every thing in the world......EXCEPT MONEY. Johnny Cash
