where do u live i need a trainer lol!!

yeah i hear all those but tbh i prefer sports to building up my body but then i want to be better at sports and need to build my body up lol!!

also i gotta start proper training for the great south run which is 10 miles, i can do just under 5 comfortbaly in 36 minutes so am on my way but its breaking thru that next level.

But in all truth 95% of people that are fat are fat due to an addiction to food so whilst its simple to say...'stay away from the chocolate' its not that simple as people have that same urge as an alcoholic per say. Hence why Weightwatchers does really work because u can save up through the week for that treat, it can also help in disciplining people into a differant way of eating as well

Thanks so much for that Biglad.

You do realise you will be inundated with questions now frum us fatties dont you?

Here's my starter for ten. I have been walking everywhere for the last few months. Walk the kids to school, then home. Walk to work (where I walk round a lot) then home, then walk to school to pick up kids and, yes, I walk home.

It's not made an ounce of difference to me...I'm still a fat bu66er

What am I doing wrong

yea i did relaise id get a load of questions lol. one problem is i bet if you timed your walks they would be more or less the same each day. this is your problem, if you keep doing the same your body will get used to it and not progress, you need to walk faster, and slowly but surely knock down your times. its like doing an the same classes at school every week, u will slowly learn all the knowledge u need then not learn anything.

will thats great you do the sports, i was aiming tips at the majority of people trying to lose weight as they just want to diet and not exercise, i see it every day in my job. i understand what your saying about weight watchers, but how many people lose the weight on it, then put it all back on, a balanced diet gets you into good habits and will keep the weight off for good

Sorry - I just had to to say White bread is not "VERY BAD" for a healthy diet, it does contain fibre and is part of a vital food group.

At the end of the day weight loss is all about calories, what go in versuis what goes out.

Anything that resticts certain food groups is not healthy in my view.

(I used to work as a weight loss consultant)

    Hope this doesnt offend anyone!

u will agree with me that white bread is not good, especially when people eat it to excess. i did say granary is good for you which it is. white bread is not the healthy option.

agree about the calories etc, but when people go on diets that go as low as less than half of their daily requirements then this is not good

I agree that white bread is very bad because it is bleached. That s how it gets its colour. It may contain fibre but the process that it goes through to become white is vile and I would never recommend it as part of a healthy diet. Give me brown any day.

I think most people suffer from the CBAS (cant be ar$ed syndrome) a mental attitude that prevents people from getting from where they are to where they would love to be.From excuses and reasons for one thing another, all I used to hear myself saying was but, but, but..But the more But's I had the bigger my Butt GOT!!!!Apart from suffering from TV (Total Vegetable) state.. TV can make you fat you know!! the more i watched tv the longer i sat there and what do you do when you watch TV EAT!!!The more I sat around contemplating, discussing and thinking of eating healthy and going to the gym rather than actually doing the more lazy, sluggish I got.Now though I weigh a fabulous 9 stone yeahhh!!!!

I think another issue to consider is portion size.
The average person's idea of a single serving is often a lot bigger than they actually need. I'd say that lots of people now eat single servings that would actually feed two people, and sometimes more.

Also, some people when they are exercising fall into the 'I'm exercising so I can eat more' trap.
They enlarge their portion sizes to account for the fact that they have been to the gym or done an exercise class and end up negating the calorie loss they created by exercising.

In theory, weight loss is simple - don't intake more calories than you are using up. Any excess will be stored as fat.
It's how you manage to balance that formula that is tricky.

having just lost 30.5lbs doing weight watchers, I have to also say that in order for a diet to be something you enjoy and stick with, then you can having the occassional beer, KFC etc but just make allowences for having those ie if I'm going to the pub, I'll have half a larger, followed by either a glass of water or a glass of diet coke (though most assume I'm having a vodka and coke:rotfl: )

You can start off with just healthy eating and you will loose weight but in order to make a life change and keep it off and keep loosing, you need to introduce exercise. I started with just healthy eating but I've also started walking allot, I bought a pedometre and when I walk to work, I walk 7 miles a day, instead of from my front door to my car door and from my car door to my desk!:o It's also saved me on petrol!

Exercise can be doing the housework, gardening, playing footy with the kids for 20 minutes a night!

DEBT FREE for the first time in 10 years and with savings!

    1st Baby due May 2011 :o it's a BOY:j
