This thread's been a bit quiet of late. Anyone care to join me in hauling themselves back onto the waggon?
I've got no other distractions at the moment but would welcome a little moral support, so if you're up for it, come back! What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -

Hi, MinnieSpender. I haven't been on this thread before but thought I'd have a look. I've decided it's about time I did something about my weight rather than just moan about it all the time. I'm running out of excuses for myself as the baby is 10 months old now and I still weigh the same amount as when he was born. :embarasse (So much for breastfeeding helping you get your figure back. lol!!)
I got the Paul McKenna book/CD and Ann Louise Gittleman's The Fast Track Detox Diet the other day so I'm going to give them a try. :j
I'll post and let you know if they're any good (here's hoping).Murphy's No More Pies Club Member 237 Start Weight - 13st 4.4lb (joined 07/07/08) Target Weight - 9st 4lbCurrent weight 13st 4lb (14/07/08) Lost: 0lb - 56lb to go0 -
Yoooooooooooohoooooooooooo cuddlies!!! Sorry I haven't been around......life sort of took over and I never seemed to have time.
The diet has ground to a halt....I'm still eating well (but drinking too much), but am not losing any weight so it's time for a kick-start. I'll be using Callisto's tip on the ramblers (I usually only ramble after a few vodkas) and getting out there a bit more - working from home is very unhealthy!
Am also going to do a 13 day detox (13 days to best friend's birthday drinkies) with lots of healthy stuff to shock my body into losing some of it. I don't have a lot anyway but I'll try to keep processed foods to an absolute minimum and eat only healthy carbs (i.e. no processed ones like pasta) and not after lunch.....and I shall pour myself large wine glasses of water and add a frozen slice of lemon and pretend it's some fruity little Italian number.....and if that lot doesn't work I shall sulk.....lots and lots and lots!
Hey Minnie - welcome back and hope you passed those exams with flying colours!0 -
Hey All.. well I had a week free of exercise after my RFL.... but training starts today for 8k race! I have missed it! I spent the weekend away eatting way to much but I checked out the scaled (don't have any in my home) and I was 18st 2lb... considering my targer was 18st for August... Looks like I'm on the right track!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 092

k9cuddles - well done on giving yourself targets like the 8km run. I think having and sticking to targets is so vitally important if you are trying to achieve anything!
As for myself my weight has crept up over the last few years which means I can't fit into some of my clothes anymore. I'm in my early 30's and just want to knock it on the head! I am not drastically overweight or anything but you just know in yourself what feels good and what doesn't. I am also on a roll at the moment as I managed to go cold turkey on Diet Coke which is a huge deal for me. Diet Coke is just full of nasty chemicals, i.e neurotoxins and caffeine, and I was sick of putting money into this evil multinational's pocket!
So today the plan is to do a meal planner for the week. I could post it on here if people don't mind then that will definately motivate me....what do you think? I will also weigh myself and set a target weight to aim for.
Wish me luck and good luck to everyone else! We can all do it!

Annie.. I've too ditched Coke.. I went from full fat to diet (in Feb) to the Caffine free.. I'm loving Strawberry and Kiwi squash at the moment (and I HATE squash!) it's really hard getting of the habit of buying coke and looking at other STILL drinks! When I fancy a fizzy drink I go for Sainsburys Strawberry and Kiwi that's hardly got any nasty chemicals in! Does help that I don't drink hot drinks but going from 2.5 litres of full fat a day to not even a can aday I think I've done really well! So good luck.. as you say we CAN DO IT!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 092

Hi everyone!
Just found this thread - I normally read the oldstyle board (don't post...just lurk) but happened upon this thread today - managed to read some of the thread but 26 pages is a lot to get through in a oner so I thought I would just jump in with both feet if thats ok?
I am a lot overweight - I weigh 14 stone 10 lbs the last time i checked (on boots scales) and at only 5ft 2 tall - well i am round. :rotfl:
I have tried WW a few times and it did work for me - but this time (after latest baby) it didn't work so I went to the GP back in March and after a few tests I was told I have an underactive thyroid.
I am on medication for this (100mcg levothyroxine per day) but still haven't managed to shift any weight yet.
Not only does this thyroid issue make it hard to lose weight it also can make me very tired some days....which doesn't bode well on the exercise front. Good days and bad days....but I am sure that if I lost some weight I would have more good days right?
Anyway - I have 80lbs to lose.
wish me luck folks - gonna need it!
Take care
Nikki0
