    What is a HDD[?]
    Oops! Forgot the link! :o

Now, about that router: you have one of these, correct? It connects to the internet for you. You don't need a disc - just a working computer.

Whatever you have, my advice stands. You can configure the router from within your web browser. No extra software required. :)

Hiya spanky, many thanks for asking...
I left things for a while, as I have been busy!

At the moment I am on desktop, with my wallpaper and icons all showing.

Problem now is that I'm getting the message again which I had earlier in the year saying 'Power Surge On Hub Port' A USB device has exceeded the power limits of it's hub port. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message'
When I wiggle the mouse to get it to work, the symbol goes away, but the mouse and keyboard are still not lit or working! I can't remember how loaner told me to correct it... :(
