:A Hello, baby girl, 6pm yesterday, 8lb 9oz. Labour 2hrs 30mns. I was induced unfortunatley as OH was extremely worried and it was a bit too much for me, so much more painful once they use a drip but she's fine and that's what matters. Went in and had my 2 favourite MW's
who have done all my appointments at my surgery. Hospital was great, lovely rooms and home in the early hours.

Sorry Beenie - someone knocked on the door while I was posting, so by the time I finished my post and pressed send, loads more people had posted including you!
As you've probably seen from my recent posts, I've been having a hard time recently too. I've chosen for the time being not to take anti-ds because I think I can manage without them, with the help of support from my doctor, a psychiatrist and relaxation classes. Also my previous experience is that it can take a while to find the correct anti-d and for it then to work, and the wrong one can actually make things worse rather than better, so if I can I'd rather leave that experimental phase until the baby is cooked. That decision might depend on how much more of the pregnancy you still have left to run though. For me, its mentally manageable to measure it in weeks now, but if I were talking many months it might be different.
Having suffered very severe depression after my last birth, however, I would definitely say that if you know that you aren't coping, and that this is a regular thing rather than an occasional thing, then what is best for you and your mental health is what is best for baby, and that you should not feel in the slightest bit guilty about looking after yourself. Depression is just as serious and unavoidable as any other illness, and there shouldn't be any stigma or self-recrimination in acknowledging it and treating it. 50mg once a day does sound like quite a low dose of sertraline, certainly compared to what I was on when I was ill post birth, so I would guess its been carefully selected to help you without impacting on the baby much if at all.0 -

CONGRATULATIONS! Glad it went well and that you are home, and that its all over at last. Just in time for the rest of your kids to break up from school too, so I suspect you may be very very busy for some time to come!0 -

Thanks Nicki, i'm only 18+3 so got a long way to go yet, it's been obvious there's something not right with me for at least 2 months so i'm obviously confused about it being hormone related but i'm making myself physically ill at times with my extreme panic attacks and stress so that's got to be bad for baby, surely0

Just wanted to ask at what stage did u get cravings as i now got a big big thing for english mustard, which is something i cant normally stand as it's way too hot but at the moment i could have it with everything ?? Just so upset at myself as did not put in my sandwich this morning i was on autopilot and put in boring salad cream. Big hugs beenie cat i know it's not the same but my oh suffers from depression and it's bloody hard sometimes. So big hugs and whatever else you may needDarling son born 10/12/09 hopefully the 1st of many :j0 -
Tara she looks big, and with such a quick labour - did you have stitches?
I hope mine is smaller, i had loads of stitches with DS at 6lb 6oz and an overall 2hr labour so not looking forward to stinging wee's again :rotfl:0 -
Suzy - Thanks for the easy labour vibes, but can you keep them on hold for now...don't want to risk setting them off
I can see your predicament, especially if you are expecting half the time of the last one , I would want to be near home too! I think everyone at work is expecting my waters to go in office and for me actually give birth at my desk, lol. I have tried to explain that it doesn't necessarily go just like that, a bit too much corrie watching I think, obviously you are the exception to that rule
Congratulations Tara! x0 -

I've been wondering this too, with DS i was obsessed with choc fudge cake, and i worked in a restaurant so it was available every day :rotfl:
Now my only "craving" seems to be salt - i'm adding salt to my food all the time now, and even adding more salt to ready salted crisps!! (i know, i'm going to die of a heart attack)0
