Morning ladies, bumps! No news from tara or HypnoNu?
I'm in a wonderful mood this morning because the sun is slanting all golden through the trees outside the window, and because I got my prostaglandins last night, heeheehee. We also used the internet as a resource to figure out how one would home-check one's cervix, and in 5 days I have dilated only an extra centimetre. So I'm guessing we're not getting our Bastille Baby after all.
Still, she'll come when she's ready.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Morning Ladies!
Well I got a phonecall at 6:45 this morning (I was asleep) to say my store is flooded so I'm now rushing to get there to see what's going on (and as you know rushing and being 24 weeks pregnant don't go together too well).
Was so hot last night, I woke up loads and felt really sick all night. Marvellous!
Must dash and check out the damage. Labour vibes to those who want them, stay put vibes to those who don't and a hugs to everyone x x:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -

Hope the damage isn't too bad GISI. Will your insurance cover getting someone in to do a clean up operation? That might be easier than trying to do it yourself in the heat and heavily pregnant.
Thank you to everyone who sent me PMs last night and who posted supportive messages after I logged off. I managed to get a much better night's sleep last night and am feeling a bit better today, though I randomly hopped on the scales this morning, and noticed that I am still losing weight at a rapid rate. Given that we are supposed to put on a lb a week at this point in the pregnancy, its probably not fantastic that I'm actually losing weight at about that rate, especially as I didn't start off as overweight in the first place!
I'm not going to bang on about what happened yesterday, but I did just want to say, particularly to the first timers that post, that there are a lot of women who read and post on this thread, some first timers and some who've had lots of earlier babies. There are relatively few ways to manage and get through the labour and birth process, so there is always likely to be someone reading who has gone through an experience which is similar to/identical to the one that you are posting about. Discussing it, and saying you'd like to avoid something similar for yourself is one thing, but when it gets to the point that you are having to modify your spelling of words to get them through the swear filter, it might occur to you that you have at that point spilled over into trenchant criticism (abuse?) of women who have had this experience. And therefore a lot of women who have had that experience are likely to become upset by the post, whether you have identified them by name or not. Hormones probably don't help either, but most of us also get increasingly anxious as we get closer to the birth, and come here looking for support from others in tri 3. Aless's earlier posting was one of only 4 things which was making me highly stressed last night, and I do appreciate the many posters who PM'd me offering support with all 4 issues last night. I hope when she gets to an advanced state of pregnancy that she will also find others who are able to support here if and when she needs it.0 -
morning all.
30 weeks today!!! omg cant believe it!! thats not far away at all!!!
well i have definitely got the baby stuff i won from ebay yesterday. just waiting on echeque to clear and they will be on the way. the lady is sending both bundles together. cant wait!!!
nicki- glad you are back here today. have you made an appointment to see mw about your weight loss?? i havent weighed myself at all. i wouldnt know if i'd lost or put on any weight.
i can see what made you angry yesterday re the post on labour. i dont think anyone should make comments about anyones' labour as all are different, may be similar but no-one knows how they will react till they are there.
personally i'd like gas and air but haveing done a little research and epidural maybe better for me ( in my situation with high BP) as it can lower your BP. but if the DR?MW advises different before hand obv i willl listen to them. they are supposed to be the experts.
right. think that is everything for this morning.
ooh i knew. people taking over your job. i work doing the store admin/window/complaints/tickets/invoices etc at the moment and i never have it all done. really is a full time and a part-time job at the very least. so guess how many people are doingit when i finish. 2. both part-time!! madness!!! ah weel. i wont ne there to watch the chaos!! hubby will so i will just have to bar him from talking bout!!

Morning all.
Hugs to Nicki and GISI.
Has anyone suffered from sciatica because of their pregnancy? I appear to have a pain in my a$$!! So everytime I walk around I am in pain. I was wondering what it was and my boss mentioned sciatica which seems to make sense. But wasn't sure that it was anything to do with my pregnancy or not. I am going to call my mw this morning to mention it and see what I should do. Anyone have any experience of this?
Thanks

Oh God am feeling terrible now that I've set something off... I hope I've posted enough in the past on the theme of personal choice and not being judgemental (it's a bit of a theme for me although it usually comes out with debates about working mothers and childcare) that ppl on here will know I would never suggest a woman was 'carp' for accepting pain relief in labour. I have no idea how I'll cope on the day but hope and expect (like everyone else) that others will at least understand why I did whatever I did even if that wouldn't have been their choice.
My only reason for posting yesterday was to offset the inflammatory and partial journalism in the DM - as I work in a uni I feel obliged to defend the publication of research, whether we like the author's conclusions or not! I certainly didn't want to offend or upset anyone.MFW Challenge member no. 96 - on hold!
