Becster, Carters had a huge sale going on when I was over there a month ago..most stuff was like 70%off and then they were giving out discount coupons for you to use ontop of that, but unfortunatley we couldn't use them as we were flying home the day before they were valid for use.

    good news...
rang our mortgage company yesterday to see bout taking a payment holiday (1 month only) just to help us out if things got a little tight financially. and if car decides to give up (its on its way out and prob is too small for us and baby so we need a larger one, nothing fancy) anyhoo
lady was ever so nice said thats fine, call back about 3 weeks before we need to take the payment break. asked what it was for and i explained me pregnant, and to buy things for baby (better than saying to help buy a car) and she said you can have a maternity break for upto 6 months!! mortgage payments would go up by £25 after this but we live with that for not paying our mortgage for 6 months!! just need tosend copy of matb1 (will have to get another one from mw, knew i should have photocopied it) and letter stating that we want to have the break.
so we can use the money to get a better car and hopefully clear our remaining debts at the same time!!

I skipped the brown sauce and had Lea and Perrins Worcester Sauce instead - t'was very good!

Bit of Lea and Pea - NOW we're talking!!

Helen - Been reading about your dilema with your Dad - Hope you manage to get things sorted. I think everyone has been spot on and agree you must speak to him ASAP, if nothing else to stop you worrying about it, which isn't good for you or bubs.

    What does everyone else think?

My other half is Australian and both his folks are SOOO excited as it will be their first GC. Problem is they split up 10+ years ago but MIL is still very bitter and can't bear to be near him (Our wedding was a diplomatic challenge to say the least!). She's a lovely woman, but just hasn't been able to get past it. Anyway FIL remarried a couple of years ago and luckily both he and his wife are very understanding about MIL's feelings. However both are desperate to come over for the big arrival and start cooing. Hadn't even thought about it before, and now just not sure how to handle it.

My mum lives about 40 mins away and has her own room here, but never out stays her welcome. OH has just assumed that both his parents will fly over here for the birth! Like I really want a hundred people staring at my bits!!!

I really want both MIL and FIL to be involved and don't want to offend them, but what is usual? How long after do people have family over? And to stay? I have more then enough room to have them to stay here, esp. as they will be flying over from Oz, but I guess I will really just need and want some time to just get used to and enjoy being a new mum. ARRRGGGHH!!!!

Also, although we do have the room, I seriously doubt having them all to stay at the same will be a reicipe for a harmonious happy home, but who do I invite first without offending the other? FIL was great at the wedding but I know they did feel a tiny bit that they missed out on some things as they were they were more understanding.
    Double ARRRRGGGHHH!!!

P.S OH is useless at this sort of thing and just hides, pretends to be asleep or buries his head in the sand. Joy!

I think we all need some of that magic ice cream, the one where it doesn't contain calories or sugar but tastes so good al your problems seem to melt away!

am feeling very 'cant be bothered' today
need to do the washing and put some clothes in washer and i cant be bothered.
feel like lying on couch and sleeping again.

might get a big bowl of ice cream, see how that works.

Tia- any luck with the methyldopa?

Can I point out that it's not just the birth I don't want folk seeing, it's the 3 or so days after bubs arrives and the baby blues kick in leaving you in tears for a day. Plus all the after pains you could get in the first week. And getting used to the random floods of lochia you could get. And the fact that you do just want to be left the hell alone in that first week.

Nobody is coming to see us in that first week. If they do it is for an hour only. I may feel different but I'm an unsocialable !!!!!! at the best of times.

And if we are in in hospital for that week, it will be a day or two after we get home. I need to find my feet first.

    Hi Jillie
Who is your mortgage with? That sounds fab!
But does it not extend your mortgage by 6 months OR do you just pay an extra £25 for the remainder of the mortgage

That would help us out immensely! I did copy my MATB1 but only cos I though work might lose it!

I might look into that esp with OH's work situation!

    How are you?

Jillie, I've not even collected it yet. I am seriusly lacking in motivation to do anything recently. I need to collect a prescription for sticks and sharps on Monday from GO so will get it then and try. But I want DH to be here when I do try it, just incase.

Plus, I'm not actually remembering to take my labitalol everyday anyway.... *ducks flying objects aimed at her head* BP is fine though!
