OMG! 1 o'clock. Really must get my a$$ into gear and go and shower. Few things to do this afternoon, then home, changed, and off to dinner at La Tasca and theatre. Hope I have the correct night this time!

Might pop on later if I have time.

Back to work Glam. Everyone else, relax and have a good day! X

Helen- that is a really tough situation with your Dad. Maybe this is a good opportunity to make the break though and let him know that he needs to find somewhere else to stay when he's over. Do you have any siblings? Or does he? Maybe he could stay with them?

I hadn't even thought about visitors. No idea how I will feel at the time. I think I might play it by ear and let hubby fend them off if needs be. Something tells me the in-laws may be the troublesome ones!

Harley- I think £200 is optimistic but reasonable, given you are six months pregant and the catalogue of failures that you have suffered from Mothercare!

Ooh, Fitzio, La Tasca sounds yummy. What you seeing at the theatre?

Thanks for the dad advice. Thing is we arn't close, never have been never will be. It's a chore to speak to him even on the phone to be really honest as I just don't know what to say to him. When he's here (2 weeks at a time!) I feel like a child again living under his roof, I know Im not but it's just the way I end up feeling. As it used to be his house it's hard for me to stand up to him and tell him whats what. Im not like that as a person anyway, usually shy away from confrontation, so it makes it even harder the fact he's my dad and he still see's it as his house, his home. Im going to have to toughen up with him though and sort it out but Im just amazed that he's not mentioning anything about it! And Im abit disgusted that he might be thinking it's perfectly acceptable to impose on us at such an important time in our lives!! When he was here last time things got heated and things were said (not about baby) and he became aware that he was in the way when he was here for so long at a time, but either it hasn't sunk in or he just doesn't care cos he's planned to be here for 2 weeks again next time (comes back end of July) And he knows I work in a hotel and obviously could get him a discount on a room but again, never mentions it atall. Im really sorry to go on :o

forgot to reply to Helen :o

I wouldn't feel comfy having family staying in the house while I was at very end stages and during labour. My mum is coming up for a night In August when I will be 35weeks and said she would stay in a hotel so she didn't put any pressure on us but I've insisted they stay here.

Our family are all over 4 hours away and my Mum has said she will come up in October half term to allow us time to settle in with baby and last night MIL said that her and FIL were saving hols to come up but would let us settle in first - I had visions of them jumping in the car as soon as I was in labour!

I want my first week or so to be a time for me, OH and baby to bond without interference - I'm sure at the time I'll be screaming for them to come and help me though!

As for rooms, according to OH's family our spare rooms are currently 'BIL's room' and MIL/FIL's room' - I say small room and front bedroom! Now it's nursery and spare room - spare room will become LO's bedroom when next one comes along so they'll have to stay in hotels when they come up in future!

Thats the way any normal person would feel isn't it..don't wanna impose, don't wanna get in the way ect... So why won't my dad feel like that!!? Im losing the will to try to cope with it. My head feels like its buring inside, I feel that way about it all but then I think Im over reacting, being a total cow cos he's my dad, and he used to live here so why shouldn't he stay here, surely he has a right? Which is right!!

Helen, how tall/ big are you? I'm 5'1 and about 7 and a half stone when not pregnant and my daughter was 8lb15oz induced at 38wks because I had eclampsia, just wondered why your midwife was shocked at size of your baby. My friend is 5inches taller than me, bigger built by quite a bit and had to have ECS with a 7lb baby cos pelvis too narrow so i always assumed that your pelvis size not obvious from your build IYKWIM?

    Hi Guys,

First of all a big congrats to everyone on here - He he!!

I'm SOOOO excited and its our first so everthing is new and exciting, also none of my friends are pregnant at the moment so I am in danger of boring all my non-preggy friends to death, so its great to have you guys to sound things out on!!

Anyway, we are off to the States in a couple of months and remember that when we were there last that baby things seemed to be really cheap (not that we were loooking, just happened to see a couple of things in Walmart as I remember.) But we were wondering if it might be worth picking up some baby bits while we were over there as we will have loads of unused luggage allowance, also we have friends over there who can ship things if neccessary.

Anyway so I just wondered if anyone knew what, if anything might be worth having a look at, or any maternity shops which are a must....

    Thanks :T

why does he have a right? If you own the house then it's your home!
Unless of course he gave you the house then I could see why he might be a bit annoyed. I don't think you are being a cow at all..

I'd just say - We are having a re-jig of the house and we plan to start decorating the attic room into DD bedroom so that new baby can have her bedroom and we want to turn that room into a nursery. We want you to know that we still want you to visit but we really don't think we will have the room for you to stay here. Would you like me to contact work and see what discount I can get on rooms for you to stay there when you come over?
