Glam;Still been reading just not posting, too lazy! Had a major personality change with this pregnancy went from a 100 mile an hour get up and goer to cannae be arsed doing anything!
Congrats on the new job by the way, and sympathy on the GD.
Yeah that happened to me around week 26-27 - just suddenly felt really tired and drained, could be a result of the GD kicking in but I am def slowing down! Doing my strict 37.5hrs in work and no more, I've hardly done any overtime (trying to do some today as OH is busy), house is a tip and I've got no energy.
I think most of the scare mongering around listeria etc is aimed at the first 12 weeks when baby is developing. Since I hit 6 months, I have had a little alcohol, runny eggs and a pink steak but nothing more recently.
Forgot to say we went to F&B yesterday - my blood sugars wer 10.4 afterwards! Me thinks it was probably the Cinammon Waffle Crunch that did thatA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

My bank offered me a box of chocolates when they failed to action my name change three times- I said not a chance and ended up with £50! Obviously you should get considerably more than that! Let us know how it goes.....
Well done on your £50.
The set was £600 but I managed to get it when both the codes were working together and got 20% off. Still not worth £480 though. Am hoping they will offer something sensible since there were so many problems. Guessing it will be vouchers as that is cheaper for them and guarantees I continue to shop with them. £200 would be nice (ever the optimist)!!!
I am fully expecting to have to fight to get a decent amount, as you say £50 just won't cut it. Don't think it is too much to ask given that everything has been damaged and I am now awaiting my 4th delivery for them to get it right.
Congrats Cat, welcome back and very best of luck for a sticky bean. How far along do you think you are?

Does everyone routinely get the test to see if you have GD? I didn't have one last 2 times and no mention of me having one this time, wondering if it's a new routine test?love my little man he is amazing :j0

normally one if you have family history of diabetes or are overweight.
Seems to differ between areas though as usual :rolleyes:A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Helen - how long does he stay for? Could you not suggest to him that it would be better to wait until baby is a month old or something as you will have your hands full with 3 kids and also baby will have more personality for him to get to know him?
I would rather be put off with a gentle but firm explanation now than feel I wasn't welcome later. I can't remember what your relationship with your dad is like though. Also just tell him that he is welcome, but no longer has his own bedroom. Would he not understand? Maybe he just assumes the baby will be in with you for a few months anwyay. At the end of the day it's your house and he is a guest, so he will have to fit in with your lives. Try not to upset yourself. x
Congrats to Catwoman! :T
Hope all goes well for you this time.0 -
Helen
Sorry, I meant to answer you too in the above post.
I would suggest an email or phonecall, just politely but firmly explaining that there will be no visitors for the first week (or whatever) that you are home and an innocent 'just to remind you' that there will be no room for you to stay here when you do visit. Have the number of a near (ish) hotel to hand so that he can tell that you are serious.
I rang an aunty last night who is dead excited about bubs and has been knitting feverishly, and just dropped into the conversation that I will be receiving visitors 4 or 5 days after I get home.
I think things are different for me though, I will be on my own, accept mum and dad who will, I hope, visit most days, and I won't have a partner to take some of the pressure off me if I have to go and feed or sleep or whatever. I think I am going to be pretty strict on who visits cos I can just see everyone descending on me and I'll end up being rude though sheer exhaustion.
Everyone of your visitors is only showing their support and I'm sure wouldn't want to feel that they were putting you out by being there. I'm sure if you just talk to him, don't give him options - just tell him what is going to happen - then he will be fine.

Blimey, I have a lot to say for myself today... please feel free to tell me to shut up xxCross Stitch Challenge member 11 - May challenge well under way

Oh right, ta.
Hang on..I am overweigh now though!!
Bet I wouldn't get one anyway..it's rubbish here, I mean when I was booked in at 8 weeks and went through previous pregnancies ect with the midwife and she asked me the weights of my other children at birth, she was shocked that Id managed to have a baby that weighed 8lb 13.5 for my height and size. She went off to check if Id have to go under consultant led care because of this and the fact that the more babies you have, the bigger they tend to get each time but came back and said no it's fine, I was just on borderline, so able to remain under just midwifes. Being borderline, wouldn't you think I'd be offered growth scans to keep a check on the babys size and weight? :eek:love my little man he is amazing :j0 -
forgot to reply to Helen
I wouldn't feel comfy having family staying in the house while I was at very end stages and during labour. My mum is coming up for a night In August when I will be 35weeks and said she would stay in a hotel so she didn't put any pressure on us but I've insisted they stay here.
Our family are all over 4 hours away and my Mum has said she will come up in October half term to allow us time to settle in with baby and last night MIL said that her and FIL were saving hols to come up but would let us settle in first - I had visions of them jumping in the car as soon as I was in labour!
I want my first week or so to be a time for me, OH and baby to bond without interference - I'm sure at the time I'll be screaming for them to come and help me though!
As for rooms, according to OH's family our spare rooms are currently 'BIL's room' and MIL/FIL's room' - I say small room and front bedroom! Now it's nursery and spare room - spare room will become LO's bedroom when next one comes along so they'll have to stay in hotels when they come up in future!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
