Logging on quick before I go back out.
I'm really upset - the council have sent men to cut back the hedge at the bottom of our garden where there is a path, which for ten YEARS they have never bothered with, and they have cut it down to five feet so everyone walking past can see into the garden and the house! We had no warning (apparently council tenants were told but not the private homeowners) and I now feel so exposed, especially with my home birth looming. I feel unsafe in the house now cos people can see me in the living room (which is at the back of the house). I want to cry; I know it's silly but it's horrible
And now I have to go and visit my friend in the mental clinic so I need to find a happy face cos she has REAL problems, not ones related to hedges being cut.
Chat to you all tomorrow.

Hi all.. hope you're all well
Sorry, I do keep trying to get up to date but then keep getting distracted.. by whom, you may ask? My gorgeous little boy - who is COMING HOME ON TUESDAY!!
He is actually well enough to come home now, but they want to keep him in until he's 56 days old (53 today) so that he can have his first set of jabs at the hospital because of everything he's been through. They will then monitor him for 24-36 hours and assuming all is well (no reason to think it shouldn't be), then we'll be discharged on Tuesday!
He's doing really well.. Kidney function is returning to a lot nearer normal then they ever thought would happen, and he's appearing normal in all other ways (movements, muscle tone, eyesight, hearing). Having a bit of trouble with anemia so his red blood cell count isn't as high as it should be meaning he's a bit lacking in energy sometimes (although he still belts out a good cry when he wants to!). He will continue to be tube fed when he's home (I've had to learn how to put the tube back in as he's always pulling it out.. four times already this morning!) and we're trying him on bottles whenever he's awake - usually manages half his feed then gets tired. We'll persevere and get there in the end
The house is almost done - flooring going into the kitchen, bathroom and lounge on Monday morning, then it's just rearranging the furniture and clearing the bedroom for the builder to start on that in a few weeks. Speaking of which, I'm supposed to be looking online for light fittings..
Labour vibes to all who need them and general hugs all round xxx0 -
It's up to you - if you want to wait then do so. You wouldn't miss out on much - we tend to keep each other informe don here anyway!
You might find your boobs get bigger, feel tired, feel sick, increased creamy discharge - that's probably about it really. Althou it feels like ages ago for me! My OH started off like that but it didn't last!
Do you exercise? You shouldn't really do anything new in pregnancy however, it is good to exercise as it prepares your body for the experience to come. I've started doing a gentle step aerobics routine on my Wii Fit this week (29 weeks) because I have just been diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes and exercise helps. Don't take up jogging or running if it wasn't something you did before.
Thanks for the advice. Sorry to hear about the GD diagnosis - must be worrying but at least it will go! From what I am reading everywhere is that I am classed as very overweight that I have much more to worry about regarding getting high bp/ gd/ big or early babies...my goodness the scare list is endless. Fortunately everything they expected an overweight person to get I have never suffered from and consider myself reasonably active...so we'll see.
The only exercise I do is walking our two big dogs everyday (or running for my trains to work!!), so I will continue with the walking lightly but wont push myself hard or let them pull me over or anything. Boobs definitely tender, DH swears slightly bigger (he wishes!) and I am sure down below is getting a bit swollen on top. Sorry if tmi :rotfl: but I just dont know what to expect!!0 -

Someone local is offering a sleeping bag with sleeves for sale. It'll be cold enough here to warrant sleeves from the end of September to maybe March. The thing is 70cm long, says the seller - is that a good size for a 2-8 month old? Assuming her head makes up a large proportion of her length?Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

YAY for Rhys :T:T:T
Way to go Elle - am so pleased for you all.
Betty - keep up the dog walking! and trust me nothing is every TMI on here! I wouldn't worry about the scare stories - just focus on your pregnancy, they are all different.
Oh and look at me - spoke to Registrar yesterday about c section and said 'Well, I look at that as a last resort' and he said 'Well, it's like breech babies - we refuse to deliver them naturally' I said 'Well, what would you do if I refused a section?' He was a bit speechless.
Skinty - that's why I want to put off ringing about the big tree behind mine cos they'll probably do the hedges as well although we do have a fence I like th security of the hedge.A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

acording to the nhs chart a tall boy will be 70cm tall at 18 weeks an average boy at 34wks and a short boy will reach 70cm at 1yr old so erm sounds ok0
